    Beer does stay fresher in cans but cans don't actually make it taste metallic. You think it tastes metallic because it tastes different and you assume that because it's in a metal can the difference is a metallic taste, but that's actually just what fresh beer tastes like - sharper (especially hoppy beers) and less degraded from exposure to light (like it is in bottles).

    Can you get beer shipped to Australia? I'm not sure the rules on this...but, I'd be more than willing to send you a bottles of Cigar City beer. They have a top-rated Imperial Stout that is ranked in the top 10 in most worldwide polls. I live about 7 miles from their brewery in Tampa, Florida. It's called the Cigar City Hanahpu Imperial Stout. Found here:

    https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/17981/47022/

    American brewing companies have gotten a bad rap, understandably so...with crap beers such as Bud and Bud Light, Coors and Miller lite. But, most people that I know have been purchasing the Craft beers, from local artisans...and, not the cheep $5.99 6-pack stuff anymore. Beers such as Corona (one of the worst beers in Mexico) and Heineken are just very bad beers with horrible after-tastes as well.

    The beer has been popping up in more places, but I remember them as a very small brewery. They have several great beers, and some of it is rather limited.

    I'm not sure of the rules but I can't see why not, I'm keen. Looks like an awesome drop.

    Ruby Tuesday is fantastic. It is my go to beer.
    I was surprised though, despite being a Matilda Bay product I couldn't find it in W.A.

    The best beer in the whole world is................

    Wine. Preferably a New Zealand Pinot Gris, just slightly chilled.

    As you were.

    Managed to jag a couple of stubbies tonite.

    Had a taste test thanks to the landlord, stubby divided by maybe 4? peeps?

    Full on. Not my cuppa as I'm not into dark beers let alone black stouts @ +12%.

    Released today, this limited edition Imperial Stout by Hawkers, bourbon barrel aged on Wild Turkey/Heaven Hills oak is a ripper.

    One for me, one for the pool room I'm thinkin ...

    Fixation IPA.

    Reasonably hoppy @ 65 IBU's but the balance is near perfect. The hops are dominant.

    Had a few of these before but after spending the day mowing lawns and getting the chili plants in order, possibly the ultimate Spring drop.

    The label states - It's clean, hop - driven, piney, citrusy, fresh, bold, bitter, big yet balanced.

    Tagline - Life is Short, Drink fresh.

    Clean = 95/100

    Hop driven = 80/100

    Piney = piney and earthy. I've had overly piney beers before but this isn't one of them.

    Citrus = it is but not Coopers citrus/fruity (thank god). 70/100

    Fresh = 100/100

    Bold = 50/100

    Bitter = see Hop driven

    Big yet balanced = Big 70/100, Balanced 100/100

    Tagline = Pretty much nailed it.

    Enjoy

    Never got the 'life is short' saying... It's the longest thing anyone does and most spend around 80 years doing it :|

    I haven't developed a taste for fruit beers yet so my selection tomorrow is concerning me. I hope I like it, Mango and chilli, at 10% A/V that's an awful lot of standard drinks in one oversized stubby to waste. :/

    How'd you go with the mango beer? Matsos is by far the best and seeing it more and more places these days. Perfect for a sunny summer arvo :)

    I actually didn't mind it, took me ages to drink it and I was a bit of a mess afterwards but as it warmed, I enjoyed it more. But at over $35/stubby I'll pass.

    I haven't had the matso's mango beer, had their lychee and thought it was good, but as i said, my palate hasn't developed enough to thoroughly enjoy fruit beers. Had their Chilli beer and tipped it down the sink after one mouthful - and i like hot chillis!
