$5/gram if the gov forces you to hand it over by making gold illegal. By the way my grandpa went to jail for 6months for buying gold dirt cheap just as it was bing outlawed. The authorities knew who had gold went to original owner; used a bit of force and they guy squealed and said who he sold his gold to. Then they came to my gradpa's house took what he bought from the guy, and the stuff he owned previously and he went to jail. By the way this late 1940s in Yugoslavia.
^Lowest price = jail (Governments do get up to some unexpected things in times of difficulty) or whats written on the coin Whats the lowest price paper money can fetch - geesh , even I have a one hundred trillion dollar note
I presume this was after 1945, after communist come? Similar happen to my Gran grandmother, also in Yugoslavia, when she refused to give land in state property, she was few days in jail, and nobody didnt knew where she is, and my gran grandpa was police officer in same police station , after he find out what happend few days after when she back home she leave police forever and open the bar  , at the end grandma keep the land ...
Hang on ?! Your gran grandmother lived in Yugoslavia back than ? Arent you a Chinese living in Serbia ? Is a part of your family Serbian ?
Could be a name for a great reserve currency - the Judas. .... Actually on second thoughts it'd be better applied to fiat.
King World News' "London trader" says China/Asia buying demand is putting a floor on gold at around $1700 right now: http://kingworldnews.com/kingworldn...assive_Physical_Floor_in_the_Gold_Market.html Unnamed source, so take with a grain of salt, but past statements from the "London trader" have proven pretty accurate over the last couple of years that I've been paying attention. YMMV.
