Dont want to sound negative on the 2012 panda , there still is probably no better coin to hold as physical bullion then the panda , when they get to 3 or 4 dollars over spot im stacking :)

Thanks jc888888888, yeah, it seems like Provident is selling the 2012s for 25% more than spot, which sounds about right to my ears.

6million and 8million sounds like a lot, but it doesn't take into consideration how many more people are jumping aboard the Panda train. I reckon, the amount of people that will be clamoring to get into the silver train (and especially the Panda silver train) will be hard to imagine.
[Check out how crowded the gold stores look like in China in this video: http://forums.silverstackers.com/topic-20198-video-chinese-people-buying-on-the-recent-gold-dip.html
(That was on a bearish day, when gold dropped... When gold spikes up, then the crowds are even greater)

But indeed, as more people start getting into the Pandamonium, especially the older Pandas will start get scarce. Ending with the 2009s .

That's kinda why I'm trying to stack as many of the affordable earlier years as I can. I think the 2001Ds are incredibly undervalued considering their BU estimates.

I'm also targeting the BIG3... anyone who gets a Frosted 2000 Panda will likely desire a 2000 Mirror. Anyone who gets a 1999 Panda will likely desire a 1999 Serif... and anyone who gets a 1995 Panda will likely desire the 1995 MicroDate ShortTwig :)

I also agree with thatguy... the Pandas are in my opinion simply stunning... beautiful beautiful bears.

The thing to remember with a lot of Chinese coins is that their actual mintage more often than not differs from their original stated target mintage.

It could be that the 6 million mintage for 2011 was never remotely reached.

    Hi Yennus,

Just FYI - I think I mentioned this in the other thread, I went to the shop today and they still have some 2011 Pandas for sale. The price is HKD340 for an individual coin, HKD320 for trays of 30s and HKD305 for monster box. You're more likely to only get the trays though. Not sure if you'd still come down to HK for it! :)
