That is how it is. +1 +1 for W Davis .
My local gold/coin guy offerd $11.12 p/g for a pile of 9ct, have spent big bucks with him over the years and he assured me that was his BEST PRICE, wow thanks mate!
Got on the blower to Davis , top price, top service and a chat to boot. Thanks Peter and Rik for the S/S Service.

W Davis doesn't have the best prices. ***** does they are Australia wide and their business model is to post them your gold in one of their insured post packs. Makes sense to me. They have a best price guarantee too. I sent in a 30 g 9 carat fob chain necklace and i did the maths using their live gold price on the website and their offer was spot on! They were so convenient as i don't have time to visit a shop, and they send you our the post pack for free. You just have to fill in the form on their website.

Pretty sure that W Davis pays 100% of spot price NOT 98% as per your recommendation.

So not sure why you think these web buyers are paying more ?

Posting fake testimonials pretending to be a customer went out of fashion about five years ago. Marketing 101.

Check the forum rules for posting links as a new user.

That's only after business hours 100% spot, take a look when their shop is open.

You're missing your target market, this is a forum of gold and silver investors, not people looking to get under spot offers for scrap.

So Danigirl, just to be clear - you are not affiliated with them in any way?

No, but they were good to deal with. I thought this was about where to sell jewellery?? I was looking at where people were selling and thought they would like to know where i sold mine. I guess i'll leave you "investors" to it....

Funny how you're one of the three people to post the only three public wall posts on the Facebook page for the business, that all occurred within 2.5 hours, and all three posters only activities on Facebook were to add a profile photo, like the page and post a testimonial within an hour of each other.

No offence mate but there's a few people on here with social media marketing backgrounds and it sticks out like a sore thumb. Good luck with your venture but lay off the spam.

    The point within a circle...
I'm always interested in pieces, I'm usually more of a 9ct man but will go for 18 if I can get it for around spot.

I'll match W Davis' price, however broken or scrap pieces I will buy under spot, still a small fortune more than Goldbuyers or such crap. They should have tubes or KY jelly next to their stands...

I went to check him, and no was not quoted 90% of spot. go down to the jewellers in Chinatown, with 18k or above and you can get 95%.
I do remember W. davis having a mailbag option way back, which he doesn't seem to have anymore.

Camy, in your opinion what's a fair price for 14k or less? 90%?

He never had a mailbag option
But ,if you ring them up & tell them your from SS ,he will accept parcels from interstate

And going by your comments ,I think you work for one of the sheisters in Sydney ,trying to justify your position
    As Peter Davis says
If your business plan is to pay way under spot 50%-60% for example. You have to cop the flak

I've found a few gold and silver pieces metal detecting late last year I was thinking of offloading in trade for bullion or cash here on SS, but I am not sure if people would be interested.

No premium or anything, purely on weight / spot metal content. There's the odd scratch or nick on the pieces (as in the photo) but if you're in the game for metal content alone, these are a no brainer and all hall marked.

I wonder if anyone would be keen?
