What do you think of this silver coffe set?

    This set was up at a local auction. Would you bid on something like this/ it was hard to know not seeing it in person. Was it likely to be solid 80% silver by the description? Is this kind of thing worth collecting to trade into 99% ? Was this a reasonable price do you think?

    Impossible to tell without being able to determine an approximate weight.

    Also, this just isn't a coffee set... it's a vintage picnic set... a collectible item in it's own (and a damn fine example made-in-Italy too) that may well drive up the price way beyond it's intrinsic worth.

    Hopefully it'll stay under their radar...but it's definitely worth more to a collector as a picnic set than to you as a silver coffee set.
