Property in countries not technically blacklisted tax havens, but are used by high net worth individuals to gain residency and legally reduce their tax.

Telling people the value in collecting coins then telling them the value in collecting gold and silver coins vs cupro nickel crap.

A decent Minelab detector has been a good investment too

Lego has been a pretty good investment over the last 10 years I've heard people say, so I thought I'd join in and just started buying some, I already stopped because it became obvious storing it would be a huge pain in the ass. If you think silver takes up space.

I think the best investment is to invest in your own education. Money comes and go,but if you are able to distinguish between real and fake news you are halfway through to your success....

Thought I had lost this 1952 Snap On ratchet.
I'd been looking for it for some time and found it in my wife's toolbox yesterday.

I've always collected vintage tools just because I like them and I've found many "deals" over the years but I consider quality tools an investment.

Snap On still makes rebuild parts for this and the mobile truck rebuilt it for me 20 or 25 years ago when I acquired it. They also offered to trade for a new ratchet but I wanted to keep the old one.

I always figure that if a tool lasted one man's lifetime and it was still a good tool then its something i needed.

@madaw1, I hope everything is ok with you, haven't seen you on here for a while which is unusual.

Agree. With my business my fees were way higher than my competitors, but I always tried to give the best service.

Thank you for your concern-I've just returned from semi holiday in Europe-had to take care of the affair of my sick sister there. Good that there are still people in the society and on this Forum who have noticed that some has disappeared for a while....Really appreciated mate....:)

Welcome back, madaw1, good to have you back, and sorry to hear about your sister.

Yes, we old farts who notice these things are a dying breed, I am sad to say.

All the young ankle-biters nowadays are too busy with their noses stuck to their smartphone screens to notice anything that is happening around them.

A sad state of affairs in this dumbed-down brave world we are living in.

The Covid Vax Clod Shot was an IQ test and you ankle biters failed miserably, no wonder you are all so touchy like women now.

Had your fourth and fifth shots yet, losers? :p:D:p:D:p:D:p:D

Your either a Baby Boomer or Gen X which makes you the parent of the ankle biters or parent of their parents.
Which ever way you look at it the perceived subjective failing of Gen Y & Z can be placed squarely at BB/Gen X's feet (and mine as I am of Gen X) due to the fact that we raised the current generation that is being criticised with our values, support and ideology. The technology that they are using was given to them by Gen X.
It was our weakness in bending the knee and choosing the softest path that has created the Ecosystem of Soft illogical thinking that has spread like a virus.
Fear not though as the tide is turning and it is the very generation you are criticising that are the front line troops in winning back our world.

This [sic] 'Retard' is the Engineer that is keeping SS running atm & unpaid.

The younger generations sure make competition in the workplace almost nonexistent.
It's pretty easy to keep any job now with almost no effort. All you have to do is show up!
