Besides stocks, PMs, Cryptos, Real estate, Bonds what else is there to invest in? This thread is created with the intent to see if there is something out there that I do not know about. So overall I would like if you would comment what you are or plan on investing in.
With impending inflation rises just about any high end value assets such as cars, watches, Art,opal, books etc
Find secure, integrated supply chains in safe, business-friendly jurisdictions. Continuity of product supply is becoming #1 focus for almost every business I'm talking to (food/agriculture).
Too late for these Cars are coming down in price. Same as watches unrealistic prices are NOT a world wide thing. Prices in Singapore are realistic. Opals would not touch unless you actually know them well and have a market for them
George who owns Duttons. Picked up over 200 Aussies muscle cars at the beginning of the pandemic. And flipped them for a small margin of $10k-$20k each. All sold very quickly. Let's see the flippers try and make a $ of those.
I just dont think classic cars are going to be as solid investment longer term. I dont think kids today have the same affinity for them. Cars are fast becoming appliances.
Ive been wanting a cheaper Rolex but id probably scratch it. Id be afraid to wear the damn thing. Im done investing so much for now. I need too many things and its time for that.
My favourite thing to invest in is myself. More specifically - Business. I think everyone should start a business at least once in their lives. I've been in business since I was 21 and will never again work the daily grind for someone else unless I was completely desperate. It's right up there next to investing in your health IMO.
I agree it's well worth doing but it's not for everyone. There is also a huge failure rate of new businesses that can set you back years or decades, depending how much you lost.
True. There's lots of reasons why people fail, but the most common one I see is people trying to realise their dreams in the start-up phase. Spending too much money before they've dipped their toes in the water. You learn real quick what your business REALLY needs once you're up an running. Start with the bare minimum and invest back into the business as you go would be my advice. Many also can't grasp the concept that business is about people. Building relationships is, and always has been, the key to success. Looking after your customers is the best marketing tool available. The extra effort and sacrifices you make to personalise your service and exceed expectations will pay dividends.
We started our first business with $500. Definitely have to get a feel for things before wagering the entire stack.
We have baby chicks hatching in the coop right now and 3 that my wife has seen. There could be more but the momma hens arent moving for her haha. Hopefully no more roosters!
I’ve been looking for an arbitrage opportunity. I have some money available but no asset class to invest in. Meantime I’m happy to flip metals.
