What do I have here? Roo coin with rust?

    Apologies for the quality of photo but you can distinctly make out that red dot. Reminds me of those Mike Maloney videos of the rusty Russian gold coins.

    So what is it exactly and more importantly, what can I do about it?

    Some coins have these, no major drama. NGC have a method to clean but not sure 100% what it is

    I think it's called copper bloom - have seen it on a few 87/88/89 Nuggets in particular, so maybe it takes a few years to kick in. My understanding is that it's the 0.001 making itself known.

    Yeah, I have a credit suisse 10g gold bar with same, still sealed in original pouch. No biggy methinks!

    You are all wrong,these copper blooms make the coins totally worthless!!
    Sorry to be the bringer of bad news.
    Fortunately i run a recycling business and will pay for postage costs if you send me the coins.
