Over the past 3 plus years I have purchased a variety of new and sometimes unusual coins, medals, rounds, and bars from around the world. Some are silver, some are not comprised of precious metals at all. But they are all interesting and all have a story. I have wondered from time to time if anyone else has purchased some of these same coins or have considered purchasing any of the same coins I have. But instead of just showing straight up right off the bat what are some of these coins I have purchased (because that seems a bit boring to me), I thought I'd make this more interesting by posting a picture or two of the coin every day and giving a clue or two and asking forum members like you to guess which coin it is. I doubt I will have to give more than a couple of days worth of clues/pictures because forum members here are so knowledgeable and astute. So to kick off this guessing trivia, here is the first 2 clues and pictures: 1. The coin is minted within the last 5 years. 2. The metal composition of the coin is copper-zinc alloy What coin could this be? .
Some of the most interesting coins and medals I've ever come across are not made from silver or gold. That said, I will be posting some silver products in the up coming "What Coin Is This - Trivia" segments. For now, this certainly is an interesting coin and more pics and hints will come later today unless someone guesses or knows and tells. Incidentally, this coin can be found for purchase on a number of coin dealers' sites and on eBay. Yes, I will at the end. Probably show a video too. Nipple alert....in the next pics there will be more nudity....but it's part of the official crest of the nation which authorizes coins from this country. I suppose that is another clue too. .
Beyond has correctly guessed the authorizing country of the coin, Palau. I just realized that the pictures I have been uploading have as part of the URL the name and details of the coin and so I just renamed the images on my PC and re-uploaded / posted the first two images. If you are a forum member who is smart enough to have looked at the initial image URL's before I changed them, please don't be a spoiler. For everyone else, here's more hints and images: 3. The face value of the coin is "5 $" 4. It's a first of its kind coin and the first in the series .

Beyond has guessed correctly! Good detective work or perhaps you've seen the coin. Wow...I knew you guys are good but I thought I could stump you for at least another day or two. Here's more pics of this massive, rather unusual first of its kind coin: Lots of detail on this coin. Notice the penny (dwarfed in comparison) toward the upper left edge of the Treasure Game coin. The blue hue is reflection from daylight beaming in through the window pane. The antique finish on this mostly copper coin is quite beautiful. The coin is lustrous and comes to life as it is moved slightly and light hits it at different angles. The relief is fairly substantial....it's not a flat coin at all. One of my favorite motifs on this coin....it's really a very cool coin. .
Agreed SilverPete. In fact I intend to get a second one to gift to my nephew or perhaps even his dad. They both loves board games and this coin would sure cause lots of conversation any time it is pulled out to show or play. .
Interestingly enough, at the Long Beach Expo (probably the top coin expo on the West Coast in the USA) I notice the Pirate Treasure Hunt theme is alive and well....perhaps it's no coincidence that this first of a kind game coin has the same theme. http://www.longbeachexpo.com/visitors/youthactivities .
