Here's a reliable, Twitter/mediabasicfactcheck approved high quality news source, it didn't make the list:

Hang on, are you defending ZeroHedge, RT and Breitbart etc? Which means that you're okay with those websites deliberately spreading misinformation and stoking fears? Or is it that the truth about those websites makes you uneasy and uncomfortable so you resort to logical fallacies instead?

This forum has too many right-wing conspiracists, tin-foil hatters and religious fundamentalists pushing their own agenda. Not to mention the CPC sock-puppets like @alor or anti-capitalists pushing their anti-US pro-Russian/China agendas. I'd prefer to see them leave or get booted out by admin. And there's no hiding behind the skirts of "freedom of expression" when one deliberately spreads lies to enhance their own values.

And censorship sits quite nicely thank you very much with my Libertarian values before any one asks. ;)

You'd be on my censure list mate. Surely there's enough American right-wing forums you can play on instead of infecting this place.

Edit to add: and is that the best you've got to defend those websites you cherish so dearly? Resorting to ad hominem?

I'm not "right-wing" but thanks. I'm a liberal. I've never voted for a Republican before Trump.

Libertarians are against censorship. If you are for limiting what is said on the site because you disagree with it, then you are a true LEFTY in my opinion.
No real libertarian would want to censor others' views.

    Cheers!

I am defending the principle of people being able to choose their own reading and to make their own decisions as to the usefulness of what they read.

It's a conservative thing. We don't like people telling us what we are allowed to hear and to read and then attempting to silence us by petitioning authority figures to ban us from forums and silence us from speaking. We don't like bullies who attempt to use the law (moderators) to silence those with differing opinions. Did Peter hack your account?

    What a load of shit.

You're defending those who deliberately spread misinformation to advance their values at the expense of others.

I'm not appealing to the law to have the likes of @Jim4silver or anyone else for that matter, you included if you push the right-wing conspiracy barrow. So your accusation that I'm a bully is just a sad indictment of your incapacity to understand one of the fundamental roots of the tree of liberty ie private property. No one has the right to freedom of speech on this forum. Don't you get it? Or are you just happy to take the bits and pieces of libertarian philosophy that suits your agenda. Wake up mate, you're drifting over to the dark side.

    Hellva long list that: https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/fake-news/

If we knock off all those listed, we'll just be left with:

    and

    upload_2020-2-9_9-30-9.jpeg
(who didn't make the list but one could say are slightly slanted in their political views and commentary)

Who gets to say what site is spewing truth and what site is spewing lies?

I didn't see CNN on the list, and they have been caught several times spreading "fake news" about Trump and company.

What exactly are you looking for today Shiney? You launch a thread where you call other people "nut jobs" in the title, you call other forum members right-wing conspiracists, tin-foil hatters and religious fundamentalists and sock puppets. It just looks like you want to stir up a hornets nest for the sake of it today and I don't know why. Where exactly do you think a thread like this will go other than pissing off GP? I am not disputing that there are posts on the forum that plumb the far reaches of the Left and Right and I don't enjoy them either, I agree with your opinions on some members, I just accept that in the real world I have to live with them as peacefully as I can.

You know me by now, I have conservative values and I am a champion of healthy capitalism but I just don't see the point in starting a thread that is so deliberately inflammatory? What do you want to hear? Do you want to raise a mob to go after other forum members?

Perhaps you can post a list of news websites that you regard as never "feeding bullshit" as an alternative to the ones that you list? That might add something that is actually useful and worth discussion.

Challenging the assumptions that some here are making. If you feel threatened maybe that's a good thing, I'm questioning my own motives as well. I doubt this thread will piss off admin though, you've forgotten how far more tolerant The Pelican is nowadays. And hopefully it will chase away some off those tin-foil hat wearers and neo-conservatives.

I've done that plenty of times over the past 10 years.

There are enough right-wingers on this forum who shred any left-wing viewpoint. They're hypocrites of the highest order. I don't think there are enough libertarians shredding right-wing viewpoints so I've decided to start this thread.

here's a reminder for those Libertarian pretenders masquerading as champions of freedom on this forum, Libertarians are fiscally conservative and socially progressive.

So if anyone who claims to be a Libertarian is not both of them then they're bullshitting themselves and others. And the producers of every one of those websites is bullshitting themselves.

    Aesop wrote fables.

You can bet an ounce of Au that if I started a thread with a list of websites for left-wing nutters there’d be a dozen likes by now instead of a dozen posts condemning me.

Edit to add: @Silver260 , but I’ll take on board what you’re saying. :)

I thought so. You haven’t the first idea of what constitutes private property. You’re a pretender mate. A fake.

An interesting bit of Aussie culture. When someone calls you "mate", it usually means just the opposite. :D
