    So far I have found BCF to be the cheapest for Water Purification Tabs.
    Check it out, 100 tabs for $40 AUD.

    I have looked into the katadyn system and I feel it offers good value in a compact size. However they will not ship to Aus so you will need to draw on one of our US friends for a deal. There is several hundred dollars difference.

    Have not seen the lifesaver bottles and jerry can but will look into them, they look very interesting. Thanks for the info.

    Austacker, are you referring to the Life Straw filter? Does seem like a decent buy for the more portable person.

    I have had one of these for 7 years, it contains silver impregnated pebbles (anti bacterial) and other pebbles to re mineralise the water as well as ceramic cartridge for purification and the water is lovely and light and PH is kept alkaline.
