The important bit is not the use of fingerprints, it is the justification and scope creep:

    From another article:

^ I imagine it will also make it more difficult for retailers to hide cash transactions. If the change is given for a cash sale to customers as an electronic debit from the retailer's account, then the retailer will have to reimburse that account at some stage with cash.

the colour coding is wrongly applied on the chart

    Advanced should have orange colour

Tipping point should be green colour

anyway at the tip here at 61% cashless / Non-cash

Yes, but can you buy a loaf of bread with it? Or do you need a wheelbarrow full of the stuff?

Yesterday a Sydney dealer where I always pay cash insisted on seeing my driver's licence and issued a receipt accordingly. The transaction was well under any reporting limit. They have previously not done so. Has anyone else had a similar experience? It made me wonder what they would do if my total purchases over any period reached a reporting limit.

They have an obligation under the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act to submit an AUSTRAC suspicious matters report within 3 business days if it looked like you were structuring multiple smaller transactions within a short period of time to stay below the reporting limit.
