I know this is a competitor of the Perth Mint, but I really like the idea of the Valcambi CombiBar http://www.goldbarsworldwide.com/PDF/NBA_54_CombiBar_Gold.pdf.

The CombiBar is a 50 gram gold bar with 50 detachable 1g bars, like a chocolate bar. You can break off a strip of 5 or 10 1g bars, and then further break down into individual 1g bars. Very handy for barter situations.

I bet it tastes sweet too! Thanks bron.
Actually, for the SHTFers amongst us, a Perth Mint silver version might sell :)

Looks like swiss chocolate wrapped up in golden coloured foil.

Well they used to cut coins up to make fractions (or so I read somewhere) so I guess the way of the future might also be the way of the past, or history repeating itself, anyway, I am sure there is a messge in there somewhere, I have also seen a few ounce squares (rounds) of silver on ebay which break into 1/4 ounces, handy for those times when you need 3/4 of an ounce of pure silver. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1-oz-STAGECOA...833?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a10adb871

actually i saw a youtube video of a bloke cutting up a modern coin, it had already been "segmented", you just get a cold chisel and smash away. maybe someone here knows the one I'm talking about.
