have you seen people die in hospitals? It’s not like taking your dog out behind the shed.. These measures aren’t for the oldies and unhealthy, it’s for us productive people that will be completely blocked from medical attention when the system becomes clogged.

Society already failed by not preparing for this. Now everyone suffers

Mate at work is home awaiting test results. If positive we will likely be closing down and getting tested.

Negatives news keep coming.... Most ETF will have start offloading stocks of specific companies, as they are re-rated as Junk.

There are no if and buts about it, for many when a stock becomes junk, they cannot hold it and must sell the lot within 10 to 30 days.

Boeing's credit rating was cut two notches to BBB from A-, putting it at the second to last possible investment-grade score, with guarantees as few customers go bankrupt, Boeing will move to junk.

Most American mid oil are one notch above junk
    Most hotel groups are junk

People might say, it will be a bargain, lets buy now....But if Boeing gets a bailout, it will likely mean Boeing creating new share (diluting current owners capitol)

ie Boeing stocks are $100 and total number of shares are 100 shares. Each share is worth 1% of the company

To get a bailout Boeing creates 100 new shares sell to government. Now there are 200 Boeing shares and each share is worth 0.5% of the company

The whole thing is hinged on two things:
FED willingness to buy crap and print to infinity
Ratings agencies passing off junk as above B
75% of the ratings right now should be below junk status. They keep changing the rules to allow spreadsheet changes and hiding of liabilities. This is how the pensions and 401ks are being eroded.

this shut down shit will likely be more deadly than the virus it self. the hysteria is going to cause so much trouble it is beyond a joke.
Think id rather have a virus than be locked up and living like this in doors for months at a time. there isnt even a single case in our area and family businesses are empty and they are being fucked over for no reason, because media scared patrons.

I have friends who have been laid off already from jobs they have had for years, Not because there is a virus around in the area, purely because of the bullshit media scaring people out of regular habits, even scaring bosses into thinking they have to fire people.

then you have some people here noticeably on this forum running around pushing the hysteria and seemingly getting off on all this.

Good point here. Amazing how short sighted all this is. We'll probably have more suicides than virus deaths!

Yea, feel for anyone working in hospitality and certain retail areas at the moment. Must be awful.

I'm in residential construction, still got a few months of work on the books. But expecting new contracts to start drying up. But knowing our ( economies ) dependency on construction, I'm expecting the government to throw some cash our way. Considering myself very fortunate...... at the moment.

As painful as it is the spreads gotta be managed.
627 dead on Friday in Italy, over 900 dead in the two days prior. Although Italy's demographics do seem to have created the perfect storm.

Ditto. I'm expecting to lose my job, it's just a question of when rather than if.

I’ve been in the same line of business for nearly 20 years, the capitalist economies will always bounce back within 2-3 years. No matter how bad the recession will be, how much the stock market falls, or how many people will be retrenched, people will find a way to survive. While economies can bounce back, relationships and personal health may not so this is where everyone should pay attention on.

Knowing that the economy will get worst in 2020, I booked a cruise late last year. Wifey likes cruise - even though I find it a waste of money. Chose a room with a balcony, bought her a new laptop in Dec, bought a gold coin and a pair of platinum bands for the anniversary. This is also part of "prepping". :)
