Yep, there's a whole generation who have only briefly read about what a recession is.

Life is the best teacher kids....pull up a chair to the show and no participation awards for all either.

I have feeling there will not be much dip buying or selling tonight.
Doubt any trader wants to be holding a short term strategy over the weekend.
Nothing but bad news is likely ie NYC orders a lockdown

It's well and truly cooked boys. No amount of helicopter money is going to fix it at this point. Hold on to your hats, it's going to be a bumpy ride.

AUD is getting murdered too. Expect a near 10% drop on the ASX today.

I don't think a big credit event (bank failure) is too far away now and that will probably ignite the bank runs. We still have one more US session before the weekend which could be a very bloody "Friday the 13th" for the historians to write about if we don't get a bounce. The only thing that the Fed can do to arrest this is to announce direct asset purchases. Will they drag their feet?

There is at least one if not two banks already operating on life support. I expect we will hear more within the coming fortnight.

It could be a lot sooner. If we get another big drop in the US tonite I would not be surprised to see a "Bank Holiday" declared for Monday.

They would be the top 2 suspects to go first but it will probably be one that comes out of left field.

If I had to make a bet though, it'd be HSBC. They have massive exposure to Asia so will have been bleeding internally for the longest.

In Australia I think Westpac will be the first of the big 4 to crack.
