Doesn’t matter. Mao is the war hero that is defeated the Japanese and founded the PRC. He is exceeded probably only by Sun who founded modern China. They are in the same league as George Washington. As for the rest, in another 50 to 100 years, they will be forgotten by most people.

A good example is Deng. At one time he was very influential, nowadays outside of China, hardly anyone knows who he is. But everyone knows who Mao is.

For anyone who still remembers, Deng was a giant figure in those days. He rules by charisma, no need to persecute, and is many times more influential than all the other leadership in China. He only lost to Mao because he wasn’t the founder of the PRC.

But no matter how good a reformer Deng was, he was only continuing Mao’s enterprise and the PRC is still Mao’s PRC.

It’s just like Apple, Apple is Steve Job’s Apple. Tim Cook doesn’t even come close even if he is many times better. The only way Tim Cook will be remembered by history is by notoriety, which he will achieve if he breaks Steve’s Apple.

A lot of people don’t realise what is at stake. Geopolitics is all about balance of power. Just look at the wars fought in Eurasia in the 19th and early 20th century. If the US weakens, Russia and Japan will take place and strengthen. We’ll be going back to the days of the Tsar and Imperial Japan. No need to guess who will be the biggest losers when that day comes.

    Japan wont do shit.
China and russia are the ones buying for top dog, not Japan.
This is not the 1940's mate.
China would have more of a chance than russia, as china actually has money

What the hell is tictock. I have limited internet here at my place.
I dont do much online because everything you need a password for and I must have 100 by now over the years.
I dont know how people remember all those and I sure cant.
I can visit a site once and the next time I have no idea what it was unless it saves it for me like SS does.
Too many damn passwords needed these days for me.

Many that live outside of China depend on this app to communicate with family back in China (CCP bans all other options to communicate). Also it's a Chinese only self contained payment system that allows many living outside of China to live without going through the western banking system. So for many Chinese (mainly illegal ones) there is no other option, that's why it's a very big deal. The issue is non Chinese normally have no clue what WeChat is.

I only found out about it after noticing many shops in Sydney accepting WeChat pay about a year ago.

SBS has a good video explaining it for anyone in the dark about it.

The chinese here in our town are wearing two masks and rubber gloves haha. They must have gills like a fish to breathe.
I cant imagine how clammy those rubber gloves must be after an 8 hour shift working in fear gear!
We only have a handful of chinese and they own the chinese food restaraunts that are out of business now. Not sure what they will do now, or maybe they live here for the nice -40 winter days.
I think it's only one or two families.

people who work in China or live there would need to use the app to buy foods etc
the function is a bit like whatsapp, but with money transfer functions and much more
its a two way communication without being monitor like google, facebook, instagram

    Let me correct that ;)
it's a two way communication without being monitored (by western governments) like google, facebook, instagram.

It's 100% monitored by the Chinese government.

its a stupid social media thing all the kids are into where they film them selves being idiots, however its owned by the Chinese gov and has been used by china as a source of propaganda but the main concern is the Chinese government scans it.
They believe its being used to spy on kids connected with high profile persons around the world for the Chinese government, as it has access to microphones, maps, cameras and so on. So you only have to imagine how useful that would be for china if the kid of a high ranking national security person had it on their phone sitting in their house with the microphone and camera running.
The censorship is high on tiktok and Chinese citizens have been arrested for saying things the gov considers anti-china.
Its Chinese spyware that people are happy to download as its made out tobe fun.
So the US is looking at banning it but they arent the first country todo it.

Well theres a huge difference in being "schooled" and being "educated". The chinese have always been the shining example of that!

Americans had always mocked on the Chinese. But did that Cuomo tell you what he did behind the scenes to get some masks and gowns back in March? History is repeating itself.
