I bought a slabbed silver 2000 frosted Panda, it has light edge toning on the inside edge,. it is reddish brown in color. Does this kind of toning hurt the value of the coin or enhance it. Would you get it conserved at NCS? or is this a natural aging process? Thx
Bravo! Agreed. A beautifully toned coin increases the value of the coin, IMHO. black nasty spots, which I have developed on a few coins, Phewie. . I have since moved my coins to airtight, water tight containers, and put moisture & oxygen absorbers inside...those suckers (silvers) are protected!
I had the same problem with a slabbed 96, I sent it back to NGC and they scrubbed it up... no charge. Just email them first and explain the problem, I got a very quick response inviting me to send the coin back for examination. I really can't fault their service
