So why no mention of the 2000 $2 coin just 5.7 million? or 2011 $2 coins just 1.8 million? no love out there for $2 coins?

I now have error $2 coins 2000 2002 and 2005,looks like RAM is a pretty shit mint if I can find 3 broad strike double rims in as many days and just from my gold coin change pot?

Score!! My missus now routinely checks her change for me and today she found a 2015 $2 coloured ANZAC and an uncoloured $2 poppy as well as a Federation 2001 50c piece in appalling condition. Not bad. I put the fiddy into a parking meter. Kept the other two though.

Because collectors generally don't collect the $2 series of coins. Furthermore your error coins are quite common as the are not that far of centre and are not broad strike errors. They are simply slightly of centre.
" Broadstrikes are coins that have been struck while the coin planchet is totally or partially unconstrained by the collar. The collar is the third major part of the coining process, and normally the blank planchet sits within the collar and when struck the metal of the planchet expands until constrained by the collar. Often this constraint is used to impart a design on the edge of the coin such as reeding.

When the planchet is free to move beyond the normal amount allowed by the coining collar the result is a 'broadstrike'. Typically broadstrikes are thinner than a normal coin and quite a bit wider and not usually round. In addition elements of the design are usually very weakly struck or missing altogether"

Sorry but your coins look like normal of centre coins, this is why I asked for a picture of the rim, if it is a broad strike it won'thave edge reeding. I will dig one of mine out to show you in the next couple of days

Thanks for the info serial ,you have only seen a bad pic of one coin and the $2 for me are tricky to photograph. at least half my gold $2 coins are rim off centres with a wide to thin rim some worse than others these start to become very uniform rim from about 2005 onward but the 3 unusual ones have definite "double rims" in a crescent shape by this I mean a raised rim inside an outer raised rim with a lower part consistent with the coin face inside the crescent shaped 2 raised rims.

I cant get a good pic of them as I need to hold them upright on a tilt and on a 45 degree angle to see the full double rims, in the sunlight it is very noticeable.

I will keep them anyway because they are so noticeably unusual from a normal $2 coin.:)

One of my local shops has had three through the till in the last week .. holding out hope another will surface as the shop keepers say they will keep it for me. :D

Same shop let me go through there old change (foreign and dirty coins) and I found a few 6d and 3d coins, as well as 5 x US State quarters that I didn''t have.

Found my 3rd ever Incused 50c today. The first 2 I found in the very first week that I started looking for them a few years ago, and nothing until yesterday. Sold them but I think I might hold on to this one.
