I walked into the jewelry shop in Seoul a few months ago and gave them 3oz of gold I came back 4 days later to find this. Best part is I didn't get robbed by the highway jewelry robbers in Aus on the labor cost, worked out just over $100 aus to make.

yesterday missed 4 coin proof set and was very upset ... today got these coins, and looks like I'm happy today North Korea, all are 999 silver 10.5 oz Meet! Korean Lunar series coins ... (will do better pictures when coins arrive)
Yeap, North Korea. To be honest that's the first time in almost 4 years watching an auction in Japan I've seen the coins of N.Korean Lunar Series for sale ... As of other North Korean coins I've noticed several colored pandas, as well as very few commemorative coins showing up once in a while I haven't tracked how often they show up on auction but comparing them to 1983 panda, I'd say that for 5 1983 pandas listed on auction here (yeah, they are not that rare here) there is one North Korean modern silver coin. (at least I've seen that many pandas and that few N.Korean coins) Now here's gold coin set on auction http://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/172679971
Hmm, the North Korean coins were available at the SG Coin fair recently. It was all the rage cos they pretty much sold their whole lot! Also helped that they had some pretty girls manning the booth. (Rumour has it that even Jim Rogers sent someone down to buy some coins).
here is the rumor http://dealbreaker.com/2013/04/when...lehold-on-the-dprk-commemorative-coin-market/ BTW, how much were N.Korean coins worth at SG Coin fair?
oh wow! so it was reported somewhere. lol. anyway, sorry I'm not able to help with how much the coins were cos I didn't manage to get any!
Hi I want to introduce my mascot. He is standing all mighty tall after beaten the lunar snakes making island of silver.
Not exactly bar/coin, but still silver! Saw this on my trip to Adelaide last year...and got curious and rang the shop...yup still sitting in the front shop. So made my impulse buying...defintely won't get recorded on my notebook...lol. One day I will frame it properly. This is made by Pro Hart.
