    We all knew it....

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...controversial-opinions-new-study-reveals.html

Eight out of 10 people working in arts or culture say they stay silent about supporting conservative ideologies because they risk being bullied and ostracized, new study reveals

Another said: 'Our arts, culture, and indeed education sectors are supposed to be fearlessly free-thinking and open to a wide range of challenging views.

'However, they are now dominated by a monolithic politically correct class (mostly of privileged white middle class people, by the way), who impose their intolerant views across those sectors.'

    So true.
But i am biased because i am a crazy right wing not that thinks people should still be able to air their views even if i disagree.
You can not have an argument about how wrong they are if you try to ban their speech because it is sexist or racist or anti religion or pro religion .

I try my best to offend liberals every chance I get, wearing my MAGA hat and 2nd amendment shirts whenever I venture out.
Unfortunately, all I seem to receive are thumbs up, and "Hey, I like your hat." I guess it has to do with my location here in south central PA. Seems that the few libs around know they are vastly outnumbered, and think better of letting their views be known publicly.
(kind of the opposite of the subject of this post)
Although I am certain they would be in no physical danger, they would definitely be laughed at and made fun of.
    Example....
My wife won 2 tickets last week to go see Graham Nash in concert. Would have never bought the tickets at $65 each. Just imagine the silver that would have bought. But, since it was free, off we went. About 4 songs in, he started on a bash Trump speech, how he must not be reelected. Two or three people stood and clapped, and the rest of the crowd booed him. After the intermission, I noticed 30 to 40 empty seats, where people had not returned to hear the second set. Left the theater that evening with a good feeling about the area I live in, and the people that surround me. No shouting of insults, no threats of violence, just folks voting with their feet. Graham can have any views he wants, but everyone went to the concert to hear him sing and play. If you want to let your views be known, wear a Biden shirt, or a Sanders cap, and let it go at that.

You do not hear about people getting attacked for wearing democrat related hats (i have not anyway) but yes people who wear MAGA hats have been physically and verbally attacked.
Seriously WTF is "liberal" about attacking someone because of their HAT?

The left are socially progressive to a point eg choice in marriage, drug use, anti-war etc. Their moral position falls apart when they seek to use the State to force their values on to others without their consent.

On the other the right are not socially progressive eg opposed to choice in marriage, drug use, support standing armies. Their moral position falls apart when they see to use the State to force their values on to others without their consent.

Left wing nut jobs, right wing nut jobs. They're all the same to me. Both groups have no place in modern society.

That is the problem. I have no quarrel with someone who has different values than me. I will not accept someone trying to force their values on me. I do not, and will not try to force my values on anyone.

Are these your values or opinions? Either way, since you reckon people identified as being nut jobs (and we know it only really applies to crazy leftists) have no place in modern society, where might we fk off to when you set up Libertarian Inc..trading as Tomorrowland?

Cut all dole, pensions, subsidies, child support, tax minimisation, gst for 6 months and see how it all goes. Actually, instead get everybody to stay home for a few weeks on reduced or zero income. Get friendly with the neighbors esp the dole bludgers who will teach the newly-poor how to survive and what time the socialist Soup Bus usually comes by.

Could anyone explain what a political moderate or centreist actually represents? Not Libertarians who's views appear located above, rather than part of, the political spectrum.

My opinion based upon my moral code, and the lefties don't have a monopoly on being nut jobs, there's plenty of right-wingers too.

The intolerant and the archaic will go the same way as all the others in history who cling to values that are relics of the past and which have no place in a free and tolerant society. They'll get educated, challenged and eventually enlightened, or they'll remain bitter, twisted, nostalgic and angry and join online forums, start a political party or their own youtube channel and rant about conspiracies and lesbian bankers.

In the meantime the liberty minded individual will busy himself with enhancing value for himself and those he has contact with through mutually beneficial, voluntary relationships. As well as sipping good whisky, watching the progress of his racehorse and spending quality time by himself and with friends and family. In other words, trying to make the small part of his world a better place.

    Libertarianism.

They're both violent. One promotes state sanctioned violence to enforce ideology, the other uses terrorist style tactics. Both have no place in a peaceful society.

Personally I'm more afraid of the leftist nut jobs, because they seem to be in majority, and democide is the leading cause of unnatural death.

Most definitely. The left won the battle for the hearts and minds of the people during the 20thC.

    yer its called moderate right.
thankfully thats what most right wingers in Aus are. although the left would call you still a hard right winger.
Problem is there isnt much of a moderate left these days, used to have far more moderate left which is why we used to get lots more done in politics 15 odd years ago, because both sides could agree on things back then.
the left are getting harder left.
extremes of both are equally bad.

In 5 days I have a VCAT mediation about political discrimination.
I was kicked out of a rather well known restaurant in Melbourne and open hand slapped across my face for wearing a MAGA hat. (I have video)
This happened almost a year ago now and the date is just coming around.
This restaurant has a HUGE sign on the wall saying “everyone deserves a seat at the table”
I've been visiting this place since I was 16, so more than half my life.
It will be interesting to see how it goes.
I don't have a lawyer, but I have spoken with a few and they seem to think its pretty straight forward...

I tried to report the assault to police, but they refused to hear me, dispite the fact I had recorded evidence, that the didn't even look at.

wearing my MAGA hat this is the ONLY time anyone has been physically violent or kicked me out of anywhere. total lunatic unacceptable behavior for a a democratic first world country. or anywhere.
last time I wore it in Melbourne, I had 3 people approach me and say they like my hat and start telling me why they like Trump. 15844173441933844907424486855386.jpg
so now I wear this hat.
