Look at how the money for nothing club rushed in, and out, during the Russia - Oekrain news story. Price swings of almost 50% in a few days. It's just haha.
A couple weeks cold weather in the US that caused the worlds natural gas market to increase its price 50%? Here in west europe, the winter was one of the warmest in the century. Nearly no snow at all, even not hours. Which % of the natural gas consumption is the US (cold areas) responsible for?
Yes but that one rose up from a multiyear (> 5 years) bottom price, natural gas recent upspike came from an average on that term. Hence the big profit was grabbed in the latter, resulting in that huge price sweep. Although it could be that the same that bought the upspike, also sold the downspike. Because that's what the money for nothing club does: attempting to frontrun others in any direction haha.
Don't know, don't care and don't have a page of statistics for you to swoon over. Fact is the natural gas price was spiking well and truely before tensions in the Ukraine took hold right around the time the US was having polar vortex snowstorms. http://science.time.com/2014/01/07/polar-vortex-sends-natural-gas-prices-on-rollercoaster/ http://www.cnbc.com/id/101428575
I do know, I do care, and I do have 'a page of statistics to swoon over'. I do NOT care about whether Ukraine or polar vortex snowstorms were the reason for the money for nothing clubs to rush in and out, though. The focus was the price fluctuations, due to the latter, causing price fluctuations of +50% and -50% within days.
LPG prices across Oz went up about 20-30c per litre over the xmas break and thye still hav'nt returned to the 'normal' prices. Some have blamed a cold snap in Europe but you guys are saying it was the U.S. The barrel prices for LPG (propane) have come back down to November 2013 prices but the pump prices are remaining to be way to high ie 90-95c even in metro areas. I'm hoping a few more weeks and prices will stabilise again.......I hope!
