I have some vintage Aussie Harrington Silver 100 oz and 50 oz bars that I am thinking of selling and converting the proceeds into gold. These are from the early 1980s and the mintage figures seem to be under 250 pieces. Anyone have any idea how much over spot would be a reasonable price to ask for them? I have checked on eBay and there are no recent sales so that is of no assistance.
Can anyone help out with the value of these at the moment - Tube of 25x Perth Mint 1oz 2014 saltwater crocs - 1991 1oz kooks in square capsules (joined lot of 2) Cheers!
Welcome back Radiobirdman. It seems like it's been quite a while between visits. Anyway, drop me a line if you want to move that gold Snake.
Ok, here are some photos of a couple of Harringtons vintage silver bars, that I am interested in knowing what sort of a premium I should be asking when selling ( percentage wise 5%, 10%, 20% ? ) for anyone who might have specialist knowledge of these issues. The first is a 50 oz bar with a DLC countermark and serial number 000902, according to allenglehard the mintage figure for this type is less than 25 bars, but the bar pictured on their website is dated 1982 and this is a 1981 dated one. Does the 25 mintage figure include the 1981 dated ones or only the 1982 dated ones? The second bar is a 100 oz 1981 bar, once again using allenglehard website, the only comparable bar I can find with the date and serial number has also got an Alpex counter stamp, while mine does not. Does that make it any more or less valuable, or does the 250 mintage figure include both varieties? Thanks in advance for any info.
I only got basically spot in an auction last year for the tube of crocs, thought it was crazy. If only I'd waited.
