I like top right, I don't think you want black on a flag unless your CIA pets.
    The swirl one is rubbish

It is a distraction, but a quite dangerous one.

If NZ change their flag you can bet your bottom that there will be a big push in AUS for us to do the same. What it means in AUS is that we then have the whole republican push to go with it (with a republican PM in power) and along with it a change to our constitution - just like they tried to pull on us last time.

Anyone who was around last time would remember they tried to set up a system where the head of state (our protector against bad government) would be chosen by 2/3rds of the parliament and NOT by the people. So....crony politicians choosing a crony politician to be president. How good does that sound!!??

I don't have a problem with becoming a republic or changing the flag in principle, but the devil is always in the detail with these things and I don't trust any of todays politicians not to screw up the constitution or the democratic process while implementing it.

I can't help but think of the "love your flag" crowd.
What happens when they change the flag?
    A divorce?

    The flag will NOT change.
Next year when they have the referendum and the 50% of eligible voters that turn out will say NO CHANGE with a 70% majority.
    You read it here first:)
