There is no Tassie meet up, what's the chances of us making something happen? Maybe one or two of the big guns could come on down and show us what its all about. Would other Tasmanians be interested in getting together somewhere every so often? Think it would be good to meet, have some tucker and a few auctions. Any ideas?

I have only met Vanbac for a buy @ my workplace.
I tend to keep a low personal profile when it comes to the shiny stuff, but enjoy the banter on SS. Hobart is a small town and the less who know I stack, all the better.
    Thanks anyway.

I also like the idea of privacy. But we could all meet in a public place and not at someones house. There are town halls and the such like all over hobart to hire (with facilities) for $20 to $50. I really like the idea of a meeting place for all Hobart stackers. Get to know one another and have a feed and chat about silver. Lets get something happening.

Melbourne meetings are always held at a meeting place away from any individuals house.

Initially it was at a non-descript coffee house, and developed from there to a meeting hall or restaurant.

Brissy meets are all run at a meeting place, with privacy away from public eyes so people can feel comfortable trading/getting out some silver and also talking about stacking.

If you guys would like some assistance organising something, I'd be happy to help - I can send over my process and generic PM invites for you to use/look at.

Good on you for looking at it :D

Anywhere they have pokies, they have surveillance. Function room at a pub/club ideal if you have the numbers.
Be good to see it come together.

I would be more than happy to organise a suitable venue for a meeting with nibblies and such, I have a RSL waiting for us. Auctions, swaps and meeting fellow members all sounds good, maybe just a sticky beak or a brag.

Come on fella's lets do this, if your interested send me a pm and I will get the ball rolling.

As long as you have a private room ya laughing.
Sunday afternoons are not usually busy so easy to get a place.
If you want Melbourne dealers to head over, give plenty of notice and offset the date to a melb meet.

C'mon you Tassie folk there is heaps of ya!
Only state left, you may as well give in now, GP and CK will come calling.
Spanner and myself were going to paddle the longboard over, the amount of bullion not a problem, the eski full of beer will also fit - no drama, its the freaking BBQ iam having problems with.

Nice idea for some, but not into a room full of Alpha males beating the chest of how cool & groovy they are & how big a stack they hold.
As you can see, I am not into social gatherings when my time can be better spent doing other things for my self & family and looking after my self interest by growing food & changing light globes & stackINg honey.

But....l..... If there is going to be free BBQ meat........count me in.

How about meeting @ MONA museum in Hobart?

I was thinking of 7/10/12 for a meeting. I will check the availability of the venue tomorrow and let you know. It is in the Hobart area.
Send me some pm's or post here people so I have an idea of numbers.

    Cheers Jon

How far from the airport? How long is it to drive from venue to airport?
Looking at fly in fly out, the drive to melbourne airport is double the time of the flight to Tassie!

Iffy, but could be tempted. Would depend a lot on how many were prepared to go. Also hope the RSLs have changed to what they were. Would be second time in 45 years.
