tarnished 1kg bar

    Hi all,

    Quite new to stacking ordered a 3x 1kg perth bars online through Jaggards last week.

    on arrival 1 of them was tarnished on the 999 imprint im assuming acid tests? see photo... Also the pm logo isnt imprinted properly hoping to send it back for swap or get discount on my decent premium.
    Havent weighed them yet. will do asap
    Before I Ask for a swap wanted to check is this normal/acceptable when buying bars from a dealer? rsz_img_0505.jpg

    Bars are meant to ugly - even PM ones.
    I wouldn't stress.

    all normal. what was the hefty premium?should be around spot+$50 for a bar like that.

    thanks guys relief
    it was exactly spot +50
    from the side looks like acid took 2mil of the bottom compared to the top but im probs just over cautious biggest silver spend yet lol

    You're better off buying yr bars from stackers on here. I'm more than happy to sell you kilo bars at spot plus 50 :)

    I've had kilo bars direct from the mint with rough-ish patches that look similar to yours, though the pic is a little unclear. I just took them to be manufacturing artifacts. I'd be surprised if anyone had applied acid to such a well-known bar (though more seasoned members may have seen it).

    That said, if it comes in under weight then that may explain it, and you would be justified asking the question of the dealer.
