You only got into strife due to the lack of facts floating in your head. :)

So this is why middle and high end earners got right royally screwed in 2012:

Good on ya Labor, nothing like a bit of encouragement to make us all work harder.

Eureka I would believe you are correct.

Either way, whatever the goverment does, we still need to protect ourselves from what ever outcome may be.

I think if you check the Facts it was the Reserve Bank that sold off our gold reserve and Costello had no say in the matter. You might also wonder what happened to the 50 odd billion in the coffers before Labour got their sticky little fingers on it. Pink Batts, School Halls, Plasma bonuses, Set top boxes, you know, all those wonderful stimulus vote buys thingys that are standing us in such good stead at the moment.

Ummm you can't count having funded liabilities as some sort of debt leveling device on a balance sheet just because every other state is f#%king retarded. It's like saying, I'm 30 years old, have 500k in super but I still owe 500k on my mortgage. So "really" I'm debt free! It doesn't work like that. If your fiscally responsible, you can't poach that money to pay the bills.

Please don't make me search for the threads where you backed Labor into a surplus. If you think for one second that Wayne Swan could handle a budget better than someone like Barnaby Joyce, they shouldn't even let you have a bank account let alone the right to vote.

Ok, it was the RBA. Still doesn't get away from the facts that both Labor and Liberal have no economic credentials. I was showing my bias against Costello. Fair point. I will rephrase - labor sux, but the alternative is no different. Both parties believe in the monetary system which is now failing us. Both parties will allow interest rates to go to zero to keep the financial sector solvent. Both will allow the RBA to keep the system 'afloat' by whatever means possible - i.e. - printing money. Both parties are complicit in keeping the ponzi housing bubble going. Both parties are guilty of wasteful spending whether it be pink batts or middle class welfare. Both parties are guilty of deluding the Australian people of what the real truth of the debt bubble. Both parties are guilty of pandering to their base supporters by lying and manipulation. Both parties are guilty of fraud. Both parties are guilty of a horrendous waste of money on such items as the F35 joint strike fighter, collins class subs and seasprite helicopters. Both parties are GUILTY!
A stimulus package would have been done by the coalition in 2008. I believe its naive to say otherwise.
All mainstream parties in the 'developed nations' are guilty of propping up a system that is doomed to failure. Why are you stacking? I'm stacking because the idiots in charge - "left/right, communist/capitalist" or whatever they like to call themselves, are all a bunch of liars and thieves who will take the whole world down before admitting they have no idea about anything pertaining to keep 7 billion people on the planet living harmoniously and in a sustainable fashion.
ps That's not to say politicians in less developed countries have a clue either. :)

Good attitude. Who gives you the right to say whether someone should be allowed to vote? Maybe you shouldn't be allowed to say anything on the inter web. Maybe your attitude isn't right. Maybe you need some attitude adjustment. Maybe you need to spend the rest of your life in a gulag to make sure you think the right way. Maybe you should become a dictator. Zieg............

Fair comment but I still believe that the Lib's would of fucked the country a little softer than the current bunch of socialist pigs, the evidence is there for all to see. What you see as middle class welfare I see as giving back to those who are producers, what you see as a stimulus package I see as nothing more than vote buying waste. Just look at the last week alone, the Australian Govt is now the third largest recipient of our foreign aid budget ? http://www.theaustralian.com.au/nat...ift-a-cut-bishop/story-fn59nm2j-1226539449670 and you cant deny that Labor is still to be able to balance the books or been able to produce a surplus in the last 20 odd years.

They are miniature fiscal pygmy's, hell bent on bringing this country to it's knees to achieve a socialist utopia.

For what its worth I don't see the stimulus package as anything but a waste of money. As for middle class welfare - why should I pay for someone to have children? Why should I pay for parental leave? Why should I pay for someone to get a first home owners grant? I see these as nothing more than vote buying waste. You may see it as giving back to 'producers' - dunno what they produced besides kids - I see it as middle class welfare. I don't get any of these benefits but my taxes pay for them.
The first party to drop all of this welfare is the first party to not be in office for years. Both parties are guilty of the same thing.
You seem to be giving the coalition a pass mark for what? For not sending us down the toilet yet? Wow. Congratulations - labor will send us down the crapper 3 years earlier than the libs will. Fantastic! Let's all rejoice!!!

I concur! Ditch all the middle class welfare, childcare subsidies and the like. Lets have a real user pays system.

Does that mean that the middle and working class get to stop paying for welfare and the dole for people who are fit to work? They are probably getting a bit tired of it.

I don't have a problem with the dole, basic education and health care. These things help society. A reasonably healthy and educated workforce is a boon. Once you go beyond that I start to have issues.

Great list hiho. And have been more since including the super-trawler affair. Am annoyed that the various anti-free speech legislation can't be included somehow.

There's one that mentions internet censorship.

Anyway nice list but I don't believe every single one of those can be blamed on the government. The majority, yes but not all.

eg. Overstimulus causing interest rates to rise, Failure to control industrial unrest and strikes, Intimidation against Murdoch (he isn't a saint... his media conglomerate is extremely biased and spreads misinformation. He might call it intimidation but I'd be more inclined to call it a warning).
