I love these babies... I purchased the 1 ounce gold one in ms-70 ( looks better to me than the proof one ).
The contrast in my opinion looks better.. Barsenault, I like the 1 ounce silver... My opinion.

1 ounce - best collector investment (if can be bought at a reasonable premium).

1 kilo - best silver investment due to cheapest price per ounce.

With the PM not updating mintage information for about a year at a time, the 1 ounce and kilo coins are the only reasonably safe options. On the other sizes you are taking a bigger gamble.

Several months ago, I expected that I would be buying several boxes of 1oz lunar monkeys and 2016 kooks. But the trends from the mints and the US dealers are pushing me back to ASEs. Right now, I am waiting for dealer trends and silver pricing to return to more favorable positions before making any purchase decisions.

Well, from looking at the prices and all, I would load up on the 1/2 oz and the 2 oz. and maybe a roll of the 1 oz. It all depends on how much money you are allocating towards it.

Thanks for chiming in everyone. Folks on the YT chimed in too. And it appears that the 1/2 and 2 are the more popular coins for investements, which means, they're probably no longer the best investment now. LOL. Maybe the 5/10/Kilos are.

What I don't understand about the KILOS, which makes no sense to me is, the Rooster is the next on the list. are you telling me they'll only give this a 2 year window to mint before they declare the mintage (2019), whereas the dragon and the Ox, etc...have had the chance to be minted for many more years. Something seems a bit skewed by implementing this kind of policy, yes?

A rich person who oddly finds PM lunar nice can request PM to mint the previous 11 on the last year. And many dealers can start to sell as a 12 pieces set.
    2 keyword, rich and nice.

What ever you buy, just make sure that you will have a full set of 12 animal.

    Hi barsenault,

well my 2 cent worth of opinion, I don't like the monkey artwork realization on this coin. It looks as amateurish as the Koala series and a few newer Kooks in my opinion. I am not buying any of these. I loaded the boat with horses tho, much nicer execution with the design, very attractive looking coin.
As for sizes, I prefer 2, 5 and 10oz I found the 1/2oz already to much marked up or premium on it over here similar with 1oz, I could not justify to buy, perhaps on a gamble of flipping them quickly as many do but not my thing. The kilo and 10kg are great but too much coin in my opinion but I am sure many collectors will disagree. The 2oz I could not get so easily in Canada and bought them over in Germany at a very low premium while I was there.
