Experience... Only have to look as far back as the Grandmother Moon Mask and Canopy... I know they both did this because I ordered 1 of each when they came back in stock.
Those aren't next day...maybe a month down the road they come back, and that's because those are returns...not stock magically appearing. For the Moon Mask, and Canopy, they weren't "hot" instantly, so many people returned them or cancelled their orders. What you saw coming back in stock are returned/cancelled orders.
We'll have to agree to disagree. What I'm seeing is RCM doing what Apmex and the other large bullion dealers do, only put a small amount of inventory out at a time. I'm talking next day, not next month.
I saw much more limited colored coin sold for much less than were worth on the beginning. Sold few myself. I'm not saying that all colored coins are bad investment, but I will think not only twice before buying them, but rather thrice. I'm more fan of Batman though as his comic books/movies have darker, more complex theme(s).
What coins were those if I may ask? The gold coin is limited to 2000, therefore there's only going to be a full 2000 sets worldwide. I'm pretty sure there's alot more Superman fans out there cos I lost count how many times a Superman movie was made!
Here's a video of my very own Superman Hologram Coin. Pardon me if it's not the best video you've seen on the internet.
Deadly and Dangerous and some others. Losses on D&D weren't so great. Many other members had similar "success" as I had with colored coins. Superman of course is known worldwide and doesn't need PR. Is gold 1oz as well? The coins just aren't anything special to me, except maybe hologram one. I'm not saying that pictures aren't nice. And I usually rather buy coins I like, rather that buy things to hope to make money of it. I currently can't afford much purchases so I've became more picky. If there is no "connection" with coin,na-ah. In the end they could make Superman making number 2 and they would still sell. I know that some would profit a lot of this coins. I guess is similar as with Dr. Who although I've found that coin more interesting. It's nice to see something else on coin than mostly just animals. Any way I will check videos.
The gold is going quite well as it has the lowest mintage (2000). I like the gold the most but don't feel like dishing out an additional 13% tax on it as it is only 14k gold.
That was my way of thinking too in the beginning, but unlike we collectors of Numis and bullion most superman collectors don't concentrate too much about the gold content as long as its a "superman" gold coin, and in the end its the demand that makes a collectible valuable or not whether its .9999 gold or .6666 gold the demand sets the price.
the 13% extra make it close to $100 to the tax man... needless to say I did not buy it because of that...ah well
The complete set just fetched CAD 2000 on eBay. That's quite a good return I'd say! http://www.ebay.com/itm/Superman-Se..._Canadian_Coins&hash=item3f291101f2#cvip_desc
^Theres now been a couple of these sets that fetched >$2000, nice to see where this is headed, however I would never sell something that valuable on eBay just due to the fear of being scammed.
Well, I don't deny I was a sceptic at first, but my wife convinced me that they are a collector's item. Still waiting for the vintage and gold coins and would have completed the set!
I received my 2 modern day superman coins in the mail today, very nice and the display cases are beauty's , also got the superman booklet which in itself is worth keeping protected just like a comic book.
