The BS is staring to smell in the land of Queensland. :)

I never though I see the day when Alan Jones would throw a bucket of POO over a blue pollie.

Now Tony has cost Can Do SOME VOTES with his Captains choice.

Is it the same stench that prevailed in Qld just before Joh met his Waterloo.

The Blue supporters here on SS have been rather quiet.

I know a few loyal blue supporters who have the baseball bats out hoping to score a home run on Saturday night and not for the NLP.

IMO its going to be close.

Here in Bundaberg , Can DO PROMISES $3 million for a new road, BUT NOTHING for Flood mitigation. A bad mistake> ?

    Regards Errol 43

The big question is: If you hate the current government do you believe that replacing it with the CFMEU will make things better in Queensland?

At least the unions would probably stop trying to destroying civil liberties and stick to getting themselves rich.

With Neuman canning the corruption commission then fast tracking 600 mil developments for LNP donors he will be lucky not to end up hanging from a tree,

only saviour is typical Queenslanders aren't switched on to anything.. not all though.

(I lived there for 10 years, moved when I came to that conclusion)

I haven't heard much about the Greens campaign in QLD. I guess there's been too much entertainment from everyone else.

It must be tough to get attention up there with all the political clowns jumping around like it's lunchtime at the lunatic asylum.

Which reminds me of a joke from the Joh days.

Russ and his Missus are at the local Chinese restaurant and Russ asks for the Turtle soup. Not being too patient, after about 15 minutes Russ demands the Missus go out to the kitchen to find out what the delay is.

He finds the cook, with meat cleaver and a turtle on the chopping block. Every time the cook goes to chop off the turtle's head, it pulls it back into the shell.

Russ's missus grabs the meat cleaver, sticks her finger up the turtle's other end, the head pops out, cleaver comes down and she says 'Russ is waiting for his soup'.

"How do you know how to do that?" says the cook.

"No worries" says the Missus, "I have to help Russ on with his suit and tie every morning."

Time we got light in this thread.

It's a fair enough question though. :) Don't forget that Labor are far more corporatist than the Liberals - Labor are owned and staffed and operated by large corporations and serve those corporations utterly - The CFMEU, AWU, ETU, HSU, MUA, AEU, TWU etc.

Tony Fitgerald, former head of the CJC, in an interview on 7.30 report, warned Queenslanders that our state was slipping back into the bad habits that led to the massive corruption during the reign of Joh.

He said Queenslanders must keep their guard up in relation to such things as $$$ paid to both major parties to gain access to Ministers of government. It was not against the law for parties to accept such monies but for their own credibilty it was not wise to do so.

Also in choosing the Chief Justice, both parties could pick from at least 40 in the first tier of judges who could fill the position. However it was not prudent to pick someone of very junior rank from the third tier of junior magistrates. Joh did the same when he picked Terry Lewis as police commissioner.

Tonight on 7.30 , I saw Campbell Newman breaking the law by running on Bundaberg's main road. Will he get Police Minister, Jack Dempsey, MP Bundaberg to issue him with a traffic infringement. :) I don't think so. Might have to test the law myself if I can find my joggers:)

RNT.. If something looks rotten, smells rotten then it is rotten. I fear Corporations far more than Unions. Capitalism was the best system to raise the masses from poverty but alas IMO that time has passed and now we have it that Corporations are trying to put us back into a bygone era.

Lets hope a fresh wind blows the smell of a bad leader such as Campbell from the landscape

of our state. Maybe a new NLP leader might have a better slant on what to do to be a credible leader.

    Regards Errol

    Edited for spelling error.

BTW. The NLP in Qld is a Corporate Body.

The bad Unions and the Crony-Capitalists are one and the same, they just come from different parts of town.

Genuine unions have a place in a capitalist system, but not under the farce of a system we have. All we get under the farce are various special interest groups funding the political parties in an attempt to place their "man" in positions of power on all sides of the political divide. Labor, LNP, Palmer, The Greens - they are all the same.

Priceless: The Labor opposition leader in Queensland doesn't even know the GST rate in Australia. Seriously, you would vote for a state premier that is so totally incompetent? Glad I don't live there.

Mind you she is an Einstein compared to anyone in the Greens.

Got any quotes of Greens saying something stupid, ideological differences aside? I think Einstein would have voted Greens in this election, scientists are disproportionately high Greens voters - this might explain some of that
