I have alot of stamps that I got from a small country auction years ago, I have a book from 2006 with prices in it shows I have a few that are worth abit.
So my question is do you guys think there a good investment or should I sell and invest in something else?

From what I have heard interest in stamp collecting has fallen a great dea latelyl. You won't even get face value for your mint stamps. The dealers will offer you 50 % face value if you are lucky.

There are stamps and there are stamps.

Like someone said conditio, desirability and scarcity are what counts.

Mostly predecimal Australian but there are alot from around the world too, there is also letters in there from 1938 to 1940 from a lady in a mission in india, reading the letters it seems like the lady who owned my stamps was sending stamps to the mission and the lady in india was sending her stamps from overseas, there are some old state stamps aswell that are not in my book, i have looked through most of the australian ones but most are common low value.
    Most are used.

The reality is that you will, in all probability, not get rich on these.

You might get a couple of McDonalds meals out of this collection.

What are the States stamps? Which State?

    The state stamps are:
    Western aus swans x 5
South aus i guess its the queen x 2
    Queensland the queen x 8 king x 1
Tasmania lake mapion, mount wellington x2 hobart
    Victoria x 12 queens head
New south wales x 40. queens head, 100 years, coat of arms.
If there not worth much I will probly just keep them as they are abit of Australian history.

I used to collect States stamps, notably WA and VIC, but I also had a reasonable collection of all the other States. Unless you have colour/perferation/watermark anomaly's what you have briefly listed, is not going to make you rich - sorry.
