    Just thought i'd share

I was in the Perth Mint yesterday, in the bullion buying room, at the booth next to me was (i think) a Dad and son

From the snippets i heard and saw, the son had spent his $$ on what looked like a cast kilo bar. He was fondling it so much the sales person had to ask for it back to put it in a bag :) i think i heard the little bloke ahd $3 left in his account or soemthing like that.

The sales person also mentioned that the young bloke couldn't sell it back to the mint until he was 18, and they were all making comments on what it might be worth then, and how much it might be able to buy then.

I didn't want to pry, and I wasn't trying to eavesdrop, but if that dad is a forum member here, congratulations mate......VERY well done getting the young bloke involved in PM's and giving him a real example of non fiat money, and how that 1kg bar may be worth a lot more than fiat ever would be in his future.

I hope that what i saw yesterday is a regular event in the bullion room!

I've read article about Michael Dell (president of Ford, joke, Dell company. :)). Article writes how MD has started investing his savings in PM (and stocks) as very young person - at the end of primary school (his mother was stock broker).

Willrocks, can you please tell me which dealer that was? PM me if you prefer.

Just read your pm. The excuse they gave you is crap. Blanket policies like that make no sense.

In any case it doesn't concern them.

Definately won't be taking my son there when he is older.

Bought a half oz silver snake each for the kids when we visited the mint recently. Thought it would be a nice momento. Only Lasted a few days before one went missing.
If anyone visits The Pinnacles keep an eye out on the ground!
