Can you withdraw >$1000 from over-the-counter? IMHO one shouldn't have more than a couple hundred dollars in the bank anyway
Change banks. No really, change banks. There is a new 3 step process that was introduced on July 1 to make figuring out all the direct debit and payroll stuff much easier: https://www.moneysmart.gov.au/managing-my-money/banking/switching-bank-accounts
you know the funny thing we cant transfer more than $20k a day with our bank....unless its to the ATO
Please don't post any links from (a) the Nice Government Men and (b) anything from the NGM featuring Paul Clitheroe. Everyone should have a mattress bank.
I think it flows more like this: Code: Derivatives \ / Food Equities }---> Cash -> Gold -> Silver -> { Booze Gov Bonds / \ Hookers
Of course it should. Whose dumb idea was it to make the $2 coin smaller than the $1? Those massive 50 cent pieces are a nuisance as well.
For what it's worth, both of my local StG ATMs are 'out of order' today. So I went to Westpac, who had only one ATM available, and apparently have a bank holiday on Aug 6th. Is that a normal bank holiday?
If you go to NZ, most coins are similar to Australian ones, but they have a larger $2 coin. It takes a bit if getting used to. Edit: haha, I just realised the irony of who I replied to.
Could be like this: Code: {digital} {paper} {physical} {vaporized} Derivatives \ Equities }---> Cash -> Gold -> Silver -> Boat -> Accident Gov Bonds /
Interesting.Actually i was reading in the paper today about one of those mastercard paypass cards that was stolen from someones car.These are the ones that don't need PIN or signature for purchases under $100.The card was then used to buy cigarettes at numerous location in multiple transactions.Seems the new paypass/paywave cards are far more liable to be used in scamming than regular ATM cards so where is the outrage?
Just received mine yesterday - I was curious and presumed it would still require a PIN ... then read the rest of the garbage accompanying it. Up to $100, no proof of anything required whatsoever ... amazing. Makes you wonder exactly what covert deals go on between MasterCard, Visa and the banks. Why do I even NEED a debit card that has a credit-facility provided by MasterCard ... Love to know if anyone knows more
They probably put a limit on it because they've lent all their money out and most of their money is in digital 1's and 0's.
Good question, it seems if we join a bank we also join visa or mastercard automatically without choice. "Competition is a sin." - John D. Rockefeller
It gets better than that. Because they use near-field passive RFID a thief can scan the card while it's in your wallet. They can then copy that to another card / phone and start skimming your account for smallish amounts. All they need to do is get close enough to your wallet (within 8 inches or so) to scan your card's details.
MasterCard - because they want you to know who's your MASTER. You have a card from your MASTER. The MASTER can also take it away if you're a bad slave.
True, but it also fries the magnetic strip. The best advice is to find where the chip is, get a screwdriver, put the pointy bit on the chip and hammer it. There's a few YouTube videos about this.
