I have a small favour. Could someone please provide a link to an online resource that would enable me to get up to speed on Australian Sovereign etc. I'm trying to get a handle on size of coins, gold content and so on, so I can compare secondary market prices to bullion spot etc. Thanks in advance BG
What I almost exclusively use is the 'World gold coins' page of the silverstackers calculator section - http://www.silverstackers.com/calculators/index.php?page=8 And the W Davis live price list- http://www.wdavis.com.au/live-price-list.html Between those two you have gold content, what a dealer will pay, and what a dealer sells for. Cant go wrong
If you want a bit of history, KJC have a good summary here... http://www.kjc.com.au/preambles/gold_sovereigns.asp
Semi-newbie lurker here...checked this forum because I was looking for exactly this info. Own gold allready but after some low premium coins thinkin sovs or $200. Checked all the links but silverstackers one is perfect...live gold prices from PM what a peach. Was hoping to see some info about sovs having wear and being underweight? How much of an issue is this? Buying sovs just over spot i expect to get an old coin with a mintage of a zillion but how concerned do i need to be about it containing less gold than these lists show?
Get a set of sovereign scales, it measures weight and dimensions but most established dealers its not a problem
