if price is multiplied by 4 that would work out to approx the correct price... so maybe its just the way ebay has displayed the way its sold if you know what i mean

The item description clearly reads 25 x 2010 Canadian Maple Leaf 1 oz silver bullion coin and the final price is AU $219.00. Am I missing something else?

If that's the case, that's a horrible loss for BB. They might even pull out of the deal and cop the bad feedback if they were forced to sell at such a low price.

Someone bought 4 rolls of 25 coins at $219 a roll or less than $10 each. There's no-way you'd honour that purchase. See the seller has another roll of 25's for $912 for sale. I think $912 is the right price and $219 was just the numbers mixed up. No doubt will tell the buyer this and that will be that.

Surely the risk of the auction would be known and hence the final price would be honored. It would also be the right thing for the purchaser to also buy something else from the seller given the good situation that he was fortunate to be in.

They used to run actions, but they had huge losses.
I predicted here about a year ago they will stop the auction format soon and take advantage of it until last, but I was attacked here trying to pushing the prices down.

These weren't sold in the auction format. As you can see from the ad there were no "bids" and the history shows 4 sales at $219 each. It would have been listed as a "buy it now" with a qty of 4 available.

Legally, he cannot. If he tried to, the winner of the auction could legally sue.

I once purchased 1gm gold bars from a bullion website for $1 each.
So I entered and paid for 250 of them using paypal.
The site never honoured their contract. lol
And blamed it on a techical error.

Good luck trying to enforce an obvious typo error on ebay via legal means of such a small amount of money.

Exactly, but the same goes to all the buyers on ebay who pull out of sales. I have an ebay shop and people constantly dont pay for items, come up with excuses, etc...

I sell stuff on e-bay, probably 20% never pay, what are you going to do about it? Nothing you can do. Take someone to court of not paying $100 for an item? That's if they are even in Australia.

You can't enforce a buy or sell on ebay, simple.

Yeah the new rules on ebay only protect the buyer.
They can now just walk away from an item they have won with no worry of receiving a negative feedback.

the banksters and politicians have destroyed the old morality, and now right is what you can get away with and anything is permissible if you make a profit. Cheating on welfare is Ok because the rich cheat on their taxes. Stealing is OK because Wall Street does it with impunity. You're so stupid you waste money on being honest - especially when its anonymous!

It used to be easy to maintain your integrity there were many models to choose from. These days I dislike that I must measure out trust in such small amounts because there are so many more opportunities to lose it.

Yep, exactly. The Hedge Fund foreign sellers of Myer transferred $687 million out of Australia without paying a cent in tax on it before the ATO could get their cut - these anonymous corporations ripped millions out of Australians.

If I cheated say 0.001% of that ($6,870) on my taxes, the ATO would have me hauled up before the courts. Why? Because I am the little guy. Much easier for a Government to pick on and scare the little guy than some multinational conglomerate.
