    There are so many PM silver dragon coins now that I'm not sure which ones to keep.Which ones would be the winners and which ones will be the losers?

    Lower mintage = higher price

    Yeah a bit like the Olympics in 2000 .... and almost all of those are only worth spot these days - still less than the issue prices !

    Get rid of all the 1oz BU rounds, nothing fancy about them, I'll take them off your hands if you want ;)

    These are the coins I'd recommend:

    The 1oz silver proof.

    The 1/2oz silver proof released in Russia.

    The 3 coin proof set.

    The 4 coin Typeset.

    The 1oz coloured proof.

    Remember that the 1oz coloured proof released by Perth has a distinctive colour which no other dragon has.

    Complete tubes of 1oz silver bullion BU coins. (Many rolls will be broken down and tubes will become rare).

    Whatever you can the best deal for is what you should get. Personally I like the BIG 2:

    1 oz Silver Proof
    1 oz Color Proof

    These have shown to make some good gains while still maintaining a premium.

    I also
    Got a pair of Baby Dragons cuz I like them cute suckers and so will my nephew.
    Hehe

    Flag the overpriced novelty ones and just stack the bullion thats available close to spot... near spot its an assured winner but paying big premiums is a gamble. (i really dont think the dragon bullion is a gamble.. safer than a bank deposit!

    Whoops, you are correct on that. For a second I was thinking the poster was interested only in special types of subset dragons (color, proof, etc)

    But yeah, getting BU dragons for the cheapest deal is a great way to go

    This is why I sold my typeset and my colored proof dragons...

    Feels a bit of a novelty and "meh" to me.

    Never been a big fan of colored coins, I don't want to be left holding the next Clownfish.

    I am happy keeping my 1/2, 1, 2, 5 and 10 size typeset - but then again, it's more of a collection than an investment to me

    Skip the multicolour rainbow My Little Ponies.

    Get your hands on the tried and tested 3:
    * 1oz proof
    * 3 coin proof set
    * 1oz bullion

    You might pay too much now for the 1st two, so load up on the latter.

    I've bought most of the releases to date and flipped them to grow my generic stack. However, I'm keeping some coins for the following reasons.

    I think the 1 ounce proofs will show secondary market strength into the future, such of that demonstrated via the 1 ounce tiger proof, so I'm keeping a couple of these.

    My main gamble is the 3 coin proof set. My observation is the 2 ounce proof coin in this set will become a key coin moving forward. The 1kg proof dragon had mintage of 500, after that coin, the second rarest by mintage, to my knowledge, is the 2 ounce coin, which can only be found in the 3 coin proof set. Only 1000 have been minted. Compare this to a total mintage of 7500 for the one ounce proofs (5000 via 1 ounce release, 1000 in the 3 proof coin set and 1500 via the 4 coin type set).

    You could ask the question why the other series two, 3 coin proof sets haven't shown the strength I'm expecting. Maybe it's an awareness thing, or alternatively I could be barking up the wrong tree, expecting a set to perform on the basis of one particular coin. Time will tell I guess.
