I think they'll go back up once they're sold out and its only the secondary market available.

Yep , the premiums get sorted out in the beginning of the rush , not afterwards .
The premiums have been falling on the proofs & 3 coin set ,
I'm not touching SII Lunars ;)

Of the 8000 mintage 1/2 oz proof Snakes, there are only 249 left from the mint. Not bad for 2 weeks of sales.

What about current prices of Tigers ($60-$70) and Oxes ($50-$65). I wasn't stacking when these came out, but I'm sure you could pick them up from the dealers at normal premiums.

Name a dealer that has previous issues ,not many
    It's all private sellers .
I know only one dealer who has SI & SII Lunars ;)

Exactly my point, once the dealers run out of Snakes, the private sellers can start to sell them at $50+, hence the premium increase from current levels.

    Hi,
This may not be true, as far as I am aware they do not make all 8000 at once but rather in batches of X amount at a time.

Supply and demand, once the market is sold out they are harder to get..Price goes up? Pretty sure you can't get earlier lunars for the release price anymore...

Plenty of them at the dealers , no rush on them for anything ,even the 3 coin set the premium is dropping.
The price usually settles in the first few weeks ;)

These never hit the market as you say at RELEASE PRICE whereas the Ox and Tiger did... also wait til the Privy Luanr Snake comes out.. any price level these were trading at will go -$5... past performance of this series is no garentee of the future ... but if you are going to compare..

Compare the intial price of bullion dragons and then see the prcie after they SOLD OUT as you put it (i dont call it selling out when secondary stockists drip feed supply to keep rpices artificially low DeBEERS Style...) but yeah just wait for the additional ugly step sister to bust her face around the corner next year if you want cheaper snakes..

Usually the novelty value of the new thing BRINGS OUT THE TRENDIES WHO NOTORIOUSLY GET FLEECED OF THERE MONEY... your call bud

So current price for Snakes is say circa $42. Are you saying these will drop to $37?...I don't think so.

Plus there are plenty of people including me that don't have a care in the world for privy versions. I'll pay much more for the standard versions.
