    How much do you guys intend to buy? Have to be quite a few to pay for you trip! Will there be a race to get the first ones on E Bay to get a good price? What price do you think they will be? What is their mintage?

    That's only for online purchases - over the counter does require valid ID though, and cash only.

    Hi GP dont you need a passport? - drivers license may not be enough to register. If I remember correctly you need 100 points (Drivers license + utility bill or passport)? If you already registered then a drivers license is fine.

    Talking over the counter purchases - from memory last year we only had to show photo ID, but please, call the mint and ask their over the counter transaction requirements, especially if visiting from interstate. There's no special conditions for the way our over the counter purchases will be handled apart from them being prior to 9am.

    One lesson from last year - if you're doing a reportable transaction (over $10,000 AUD), have everything ready - some SS members were still in the queue well past 9am waiting to get served while people faffed around finding ID etc - there's only 3 bullion sales counters.
