    Afetr day upon day of searching for answers on getting silver eagle coins from the states to australia, I am still in the dark if any duty/GST is payable for purchases under $1000AUD.
    One seller from the US told me that the Australian Govt prohibits the importation of silver, I know this is not true. But as you can see with answers like that and looking at the Aust customs site things just become clear as mud. Anyone out there got any answers?

    999 (investment grade) silver under AUD$1000 - No duty, GST or fees.

    999 (investment grade) silver over AUD$1000 - No duty or GST, but you will have to pay a processing fee to Customs of about AUD$60.

    so if I was to buy the following say:

    ASE, MAPLES, LIBERTADS, GRIZZLY's, WOLFS, and the life,

    I should only pay a processing fee of $60 rather than get slugged with Duty and GST ?
