Not 100% sure if correct forum, but I am looking into purchasing one of these and I was curious to know of the resale value further down the track in the event I ever sell.

Cheapest I have found to buy new is ~$1100 AUD inclusive of shipping and import duties from the states.

Dropped it in trading, as it has to do with dollar values.

I don't think you can get Aussie seller to beat that price.. only one aussie seller has it for $1400-1500AUD

    Yeah I know.

Been looking into it for a while, I was just curious if anyone is familiar with the secondary market for these babies.

Not sure of the rules about posting eBay links in this forum so I won't directly link the item, but the seller on eBay is a US based store called Pinehurst Coin Exchange if anyone is interested. They have both versions available, with and without bullion wand.

I have purchased one from these guys it arrived in 3 days.
The unit itself is well worth the investment imo.

    Oh nice billybob!

The cost itself comes to just under a grand, but the import duties is what kills it :(

    Is it warranted buying one?

If you're buying stuff from not-necessarily-trustworthy sources, you only need it to pick up one fake gold bar and it's paid for itself.

    Hi There,

I'm interested in purchasing one of these Sigma Metalytic verifiers from Pinehurst Coin Exchange, which is US based. Does anyone know if the plug is compatible with Australian power points?

Tandy or Dick Smith will have a US to Aus adapter, I'd imagine.

Definitely worth getting one. For piece of mind and as stated above if you detect just one piece of fake gold it pays for itself, so worth it in my opinion.
Wait for a good eBay code and there is no import duty and you can get it for a bit under $1000.

The plug you get for the machine, the wire part is a USB connection so you can just plug it into a laptop or USB plug. No need for an adaptor.
Also there is another seller on eBay which I bought from also US based called Mike something I can't exactly remember. Same price and better service (I got my machine from him).

Haha just received mine, bought it from michaelriley25 just because pinehurst's basic set (small and large wand, no bullion wand) was sold out at the time. Buy it from either seller I guess—its under eBays global shipping program so its all just sent to eBay first who then organises international shipping.

Had a play around with it, definitely feel like its gonna be worth the $950ish bux! Stoked.

They are worth it, I have a simple one I picked up for $700. FatPengiun on here has one of the scanners too ! But most bullion/gold/silver dealers have a scanner and most are happy to quickly scan for you. I've taken a couple of questionable bars to my local buyer at Chermside in Brisbane and they will scan.

How good is imperial bullion! Buy bullion in a shopping centre. Perfect.

I looked at the Fisch stuff recently - the full set is around $600 US; seems to me that one of these scanners might be a better deal - all depends on how much you're buying as to when you'll get a return on investment but then the peace of mind is worth something, too.
