Another cracking design. Hope this set continues like this all the way through.

Oh it's lovely! Thanks for the info. I hope they do the 1/4 oz gold.

Not as nice as the lion. The lion I would have bought the quarter gold but not this one unfortunately. Might just stick with a couple of silver for the griffin.

    I like the design.
but at the moment no 1/4 oz version. :-(

Keen to see the next beast in 2017, the "Black Bull".

If RM really releases several beasts each year, probably the other beasts have less mintage than the lion.

I think this will be a good collector set down the line. What's the mintage of the lion, anyone know? Can't be that much

Any one know what the mintage will be on the silver and gold (lion/silver)? Just curious. Seems like a lot of folks still have the silver and gold, so I wonder if they just mint to demand? Will there be a 'declared mintage?' Thanks.

As I've said before, I reckon RM will release new Beasts in fairly quick succession, hoping to have the full set out while Liz is still around. I'm guessing all ten will be released within 3-4 years.

You stay out of this. I was answering my own question.

I'm not schizophrenic and neither am I.

Apparently they are of an unlimited mintage (according to Wikipedia): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Queen's_Beasts_(coin)#Mintage
Maybe unlimited till they crown King Charles, so the reverse image would have to change.

They look cool, so that's going to have to be a sufficient reason to buy them. I quit stacking a while back, but I may get one of each to complete the set. The lion hasn't gone up in price, so it might be easy to just pick up each year's releases in December every year.

I can't imagine it is minted until...I'm sure there is a max time period where they stop minting. Maybe a year, then they declare a mintage of some kind. I'll write them email and keep you posted. Yeah, if it is minted to demand, with unlimited time, I'll take a pass. Lol.

Well, with unlimited mintage you can always get a replacement when/if they develop milkspots. :p

Lol. That's a good way to look at it. Just trying to get another bullion coin to add to the stack when the time comes - aside from PM Kooks and Lunars and China Pandas. But if these have unlimited mintage with end time, as I said, I'll take a pass. :))

I will probably collect them all, if the quality of design stays high. I love the Lion and the pics of the Griffin look almost as good. Also, I'm a Brit living in Oz so these coins have something of a 'heritage' value for me.

I don't care much where they go price-wise, because I'm only buying ten each of the silver (half of which I plan to give away to family) and one gold. When I go and retrieve my little stash, it's the Beasts that I spend most time admiring.

^ yup. They're my favourite design. Love 'em.
As far as not going up in price...let's revisit that when the series is complete.
Did people think the lunar one series would appreciate like they did when they started collecting?

lunar series didn't have quality issues
even ms69 comes with scars, hence is the price ...

ms70 may rise in value though

^^^Are they that bad quality wise on both gold and silver? Dang that sucks. Why would you go thru the hassle of minting something so beautiful only to hack on it in the packaging process. #stupid.

SteveS. How is the quality of the gold? Any bad markings? 1/4 oz?
