Hey stackers Was speaking with XB yesterday at the Brisbane Stackers Meet and we were touting the advent of a SMSF group for like minded stackers. We would envisage it being a semi-formal event over dinner at a location to be rotated on a monthly basis, somewhere where we can share ideas, products, tools etc, all for the betterment of your SMSF. So if you are from the SE and are interested, PM me your email address and I will start a group email, anyone already on the Brisbane Stackers group email list will automatically be copied in on future emails unless you opt out. Would this be of use only for people that completely manage their SMSF? Or would those of us who have outsourced it (e.g. esuperfund) still get value?
I think anyone would benefit from a group discussion, regardless of how you do your returns and audits you are still the investor
@rbaggio I reckon anyone that self-manages, or is thinking of self managing, would benefit - The idea is to just share experiences and "this is what I did" stories, tips and tricks, suggestions on investment strategies etc etc. As I mentioned to hiho, for me the esuperfund looks the route I'll be taking and by it's very nature, SMSF's will ALL be different due to the fact that the owners/trustees will all have varying needs/desires/wants and strategies for investments. That's not to say I may not find something about what hiho invests in or the way he actively manages his fund of interest to me.... However we can probably all get something out of each other's experiences. EG I'd be interested to know, over a nice meal, how you found the esuperfund experience, anything to look out for, your dealings with your previous super funds and the changeover etc etc.
yup I would be in for this for sure... kinda struggling with it all at the moment! ha... actually probably just cause I have so much other shit going on at the moment that I don't have the time to invest in reading and learning... but need to pull my finger out that is for sure.

Incidentally chaps, do you think it may be worth getting a good idea of prospecive clients for firms like Esuper or others to come and present to us? I know Esuper are based in Melbourne, so it might not be so easy, however... It might be a good idea if we can get a range of providers to come visit. I'm sure they'd be licking their lips at a potential client base of 30/40 rather than always dealing with individual enquiries... Just a thought...
