lucky me ........ searched around found a 2003 mirror graded ms 67 in an old style ngc holder, i graded it a long time ago, was in what I call the bullion box, if i grade stuff it comes back less than 68 ,it goes in the box:) as far as silver goes, will be interesting to see what it comes back at from NGC........ here comes the hammer:)

I've got a dilemma on my hands with a recent purchase of a PCGS graded '03 "satin" labeled Panda & I'm not sure what to do. :/
After receiving it in the mail it looks to my eyes to be a frosted, it's comparable an '03 I have in a 3 point capsule.
Is there any way for me to determine if this is indeed a mislabel by PCGS & if so how should I handle this.. return it to the eBay seller or make a claim to PCGS?
    TIA!

Yes the satin is the last pic. The dark leaf denotes it.
I saw the pcgs satin only one time before and i dont know if pcgs make the same distinction of variety than ngc (thanks to comeaux for denote the diferences). Im searching ebay for the time than comeaux make the post to today and today i have luck and i think i buy a ngc69 satin. But in the auction photos is dificult to saw it.
In the ngc photos the leaves are dark. When i have it i will saw if im correct or not.

without seeing the other side of the coin, I would crack it out and send it..........that coin from the picture looks like it has some upside potential (disclaimer I am not a grader) :) i dont think it has to much risk in being downgraded..........IMHO

But how much you will pay for a ms67 satin?
I think in time they will for more than frosted price and now is more than 135 (pricepedia)
I dont buy less than 69s except is a ncs/ngc coin and if they have upside potential for the rarity.
In more than two monts i only saw 2 satin 2003 in ebay. I buy a 69. And i thinking what make with the 67
I miss it. My last bid are 111,11
And they sell it for 113,61

I think here is a satin. But need to ask for better photos and if this photo is for the selling or stock photo
    Ebay 251064445974
I already have my 2003 satin in ngc 69. Will be the second in the ngc registry with the variety asigned. The first is the comeaux one. :)

I agree this photo looks promising. My only concern for any potential bidder is that the mirror effect on the satin coins is hard to photograph reliably. Sometimes the bamboo on a frosted coin looks fairly dark, and sometimes the bamboo on a satin coin comes out light. If the coin isn't already labeled for its variety, basing a bid on a photo can be chancy. OTOH, you might get a big bargain.

Disclaimer: I'm not bidding on this, and am not trying to discourage anyone else from bidding. Just keep the above in mind.

    Best wishes,

I've seen several listed recently that were photographed in ways that led me to believe they are attempting to prey on the careless mirror hunters.

Not yet. The general market is just starting to recognize these, although they have been talked about for about a year. The sale for $250 a few days ago of an OMP satin coin may be a sign of what's to come.

    Best wishes,
