for recent sightings. The sold sightings vary more on the mirror variety, but the marketplace isn't really aware of these differences yet.

In other words, buy as many mirror 2003s as you can!!

 

Have 3 more coming, but won't know till they come.

Yea like I previously said it's really cool knowing these two are mine as the first of this NGC variety

These two babies will be in my hands tomorrow or day after and I already have another mirror on the way to NGC right now plus another headed to my home.

Would be great if yennus could source some of these mirrored for us !

oh yea and not only are these two varieties very different ... I find the "big leg" very different as well

 

Does anyone know if this is mirrored variety or frosted one?

It has thinner leg and in Shenyang OMP, the bamboo doesn't seem to be a mirrored one. But that could be because of the the camera

 

Looks frosted to me ... the bamboo would match the leaves if it was mirrored even if the camera sucked?

Omp packaging matches my mirror/satin exactly. Looks like a mirror to me.

 

Pictures are deceiving on these, the leaves on one of my satins didn't show in the pic... it had to be eyeballed in hand to see.

Just like Catseye's picture,

The leaves near the 10 Y has more mirrored finish, than the leaves over the panda (on the bamboo background)
But I can see that the bamboo background has mirrored finish, compared to my other 2003s

So it looks like there is 3 varieties on these, the best i can tell is there is the frosted , the mirrored/satin and I just got one that is almost I would say inbetween the two I compared it to the definate frosted and it is much more mirrored and the leg is a little different (both ngc ms69), unfotunatly my mirrored ones are at ngc so I wont be able to compare until i get them back but from memory I think they are more shiney on the bamboo. So it could be that this new one is the shenyang but either from a more worn die or different die or maybe is there a shanghai version as well it would be a shame if ngc marks these other types as frosted since they are definatly a different coin from the shenzhen guobau version . Pictures are very hard to tell on these and can be very deceiving. It is hard to sort out all the varieties here but hey that is the fun of it as well.

Does anyone have any clue as to how many of each variety exist?

Here is a picture , a bad one but something, I almost wonder if the pcgs "satin" designation was more for these not the high gloss mirrored version. Anyway What a geeky thing to be into....
