I have no idea but I seem to recall reading somewhere on here that APMEX was selling them for around $230, this might be one to hold for awhile though as it may become highly sought after .

Wasn't smart enough to buy more when I had the chance.

Bought one from Apmex when they listed the slab with variation, didn't like the appearance, so I sent it back and received a great looking replacement. Then, they were gone...

The satin one seems to have bigger paw,
You can see that the frosted one have few milimeters gap between the bamboo and the panda arms, while the satin one, there is no gap between paw and bamboo

    I'll post better picture later

I was the one of who said "Shenyang" but I could have been wrong as the pics in Panda Guide are just a little vague (no complaints Peter the book is still aweome in every way :) )

My 2003 OMP "mirror" is in the identical OMP pouch as what Catseye has listed as "Shanghai" ... I will try to get the pics of mine posted tonight for additional resources.

On a side note I got a call earlier from NGC and today they have in fact re-holdered both of my 2003 Pandas with "Frosted Bamboo" and "Mirrored Bamboo", NGC MS69's. They are shipping to me in the morning and I will post a picture when received.

To me this "mirror" attribute is more logical than "satin" but then again I'm probably a little more biased to NGC as well ... in any case NGC confirmed this is their first 2003 Panda attribute as "mirrored"/"frosted".

Hey Comeaux, did they charge you for the variety? just wondering i have two of the mirrored versions there now and wonder if I should call and ask them . Also does anyone know of a list of pandas with different varieties (within the different dates for pre 2000) and pictures like this one, and the 1991 I put pictures of recently ,or maybe it would be worth starting a thread here ?

The mirrored seems much harder to find, it is also hard to tell which is which with some pictures.

Here are the varieties they charge for ... yes they will be charging for the 2003 variety but it has not been updated to this list yet. I did not get charged as my coins were already NGC holdered.

As you can see ... most do not have additional fees for attribution.

It is much harder to find ... other than the graded one I have only found 1 more and have been looking extensively.

The Shenzhen Guobao "frosted" is very common.

A good comparison is in the first post I made here ... you can see the difference easily in those pictures

Thanks for the info,so it looks like the only other frosted/mirrored varieties they acknowledge is the 1993 and the 2000 yet they charge for the 93 and not the 2000 ? strange but good info.
