Does anyone have any info on this coin, my Russian is non-existant... weighs in at 7.8 grams , 999+ gold. Nice looking coins featuring George slaying the Dragon?? scene. Double headed eagle on the obverse.
I can't read Russian anymore , but I'll show my cobler friend in the morning But I can make out Bank of Russia under the eagle
As I'm from Russia I can help you with inside info ;-) It is the only gold bullion coin we have in Russia. It is 1\ 4 ounce. Don't have experience for sending it from Russia abroad though.
Would like to correct: it's not the only gold bullion coin of modern Russia since there are rectangular-shaped bullion coins related to Olympic games in Sochi 2013: Also be careful when buying Saint George The Victorious gold coins since some of them have 'red (copper) spots' because of issues during minting:
Not my most comprehensive guide I have to admit, but we have info up here http://agaunews.com/portfolio-items/st-george-the-victorious/?portfolioID=9534
