Only 202USD for 5 oz of attractive, historic, proofy .999AG goodness, with a 10k mintage.

seems like a good deal, no? I mean c'mon, it has POLAR BEARS on it, and the flags of two nations that may well be butting heads in WWIII (among others - China, EU etc).

    A penny for your thoughts?

    haha, good edit.

I just bought one. We'll see what it's like when it arrives, more may be on the cards if it's super-nice.

Nice looking coin! If you don't mind, where did you get it from?

So many beaut looking silver coins in the world market, wish I had the spare $ to be able to buy just for the sake of owning them :)

I'll keep to my stacking for now, and the odd coin that takes my fancy.

There are plenty of nice looking coins in the world, but so often the premiums are outrageous. These seem decent to me though, considering that cool animal coins always seem to do OK if not very well. Doesn't get much cooler than a polar bear, they're ice cold.

So it arrived. Pretty quickly too I might add. the coin came in an over-size capsule that doesn't fit the box, so I need to track down some 60mm capsules for them.

I am very happy with it, it really is a beautiful coin and for spot+$8, the value seems pretty good too.

 Woah! That's quite a jump. Glad I got in when I did too. I had a feeling it was a deal, so ordered another 3 about a week ago. They dropped a couple of dollars when spot was dropping, and now they're up 50%? Crazy. I wonder where they'll end up..

Just doing a bit of ebay research and came across this original case for the 4 coin set
    190588796985
Think trying to get the other 3 coins would be very expensive and hard to find, think we got an absolute bargain with this coin :D

That set looks great, bit out of my price league though - maybe pandaamerica will sell the other ones eventually for @200 ea - wishful thinking! :D
Thanks octapotamus, happy to have got a couple of these at cheap price - great looking proof coin at close to spot, can't ask for much more than that :)

It does, though I think we got the best looking coin with the Polar Bear
Happy to help AndyRoo! I'm glad someone else was able to get some.
I wonder if the interest generated here had anything to do with the price move.. I mean, for example: if they had 50 in stock, and then all of a sudden they sell around 20 of them in the space of a few weeks (2forAndyRoo, 4forMe, a dozen or so in total by lurkers that recognise a deal but didn't pipe up) their inventory is almost halved.
I'd put up the price too if this happened. I was THINKING of keeping it quiet but realised I wasn't going to buy 10-20 myself so why not spread the love :)

These obscure coins are interesting in market terms. Each coin is a tiny market unto itself with buyers and sellers of that specific coin. From what we've learned, the smaller the market, the easier it's "manipulated" so we can conclude that if a low-mintage & relatively low-cost or undervalued coin is discovered, simply buying a whole bunch of them may be enough to move the market up and presto - PROFIT.

The trick is finding the undervalued coins I guess, not that many around. Hunting for them has become one of my favourite pass-times since my interest in PMs was piqued. This one is evidence that they're still out there :D

Beautiful coin... I remember those days of us all in The West, flowers in our hair (when we had hair), campaigning for the Berlin Wall to come down, supporting CND, in the name of global peace... And look what the f$ckers rewarded us with... Putin & puppy Medvedev, a regime dominated by corrupt oligarch thieves and a society controlled by coked-up meathead bling-laden Mafiosi with LV'd-up wives & girlfriends with bad hair, bad teeth and no dress sense... Not that I'm bitter... But... NICE COIN ;)
