Hi all, I was just reading the commentary in a ZH article, with a reference to a critique of Niall Ferguson's Ascent of Money. Interestingly, Ferguson wrote a 3 volume bio for the Rothschilds. Plenty of evidence of a trenchant mind at work here: http://www.goldensextant.com/commentary36.html#anchor5833 and here: http://oikonomika-blog.blogspot.com/2009/11/bob-landis-long-live-restoration-of.html
Fantastic stuff. Thank you millededge. I'd watched TAOM but hadn't read the book. The series is very fluffy but one can't judge all the nuances as one can in a book. The clay tablet point is excellent. I can't imagine how Fergusson could suggest it was money. Even today I can see that the tablet is like a modern cheque is. Disposable inscription that serves a purpose for a short time.
