Watching my super do NOTHING since I began my working career in 1999 it's time to take control of MY future. Can anyone recommend SMSF providers/accountants in Melbourne? If possible ones who specialise or have experience using SMSF to purchase physical Gold and Silver. Has anyone done this? I have looked at ESuper but am not 100% sure it's the best way to go. Any help that anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, dlaalueren
I plan to roll funds into the SMSF purchase physical metals. Any help that anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated.
ESuper is fine for that. Do you have anything in particular against esuper that would steer you away?
Mixed reports. Some say it's great others say it's terrible. Some say the reporting it first class and exactly right, others say it's sent off to India to get processed which can raise private information issues. This is my first venture into SMSF so I don't want to just jump onto the first thing I found, which happens to be ESuper. Are you using ESuper thatguy?
http://forums.silverstackers.com/topic-1917-smsf-s.html I use eSuper, and havent had any problems yet. Some here prefer the personal touch of using their accountant to set it up, which is more expensive, but may be worth it if you have well over $100k.
perthsilver/thatguy, have you been through the whole audit/ tax process as yet? And is it true there is a minimum of 5k needed to be in the ANZ V2 account at all times? Are you guys using it to purchase PM's? Thanks for your help too.
Thanks thatguy. That's what I'd most like to hear about the audit process. Good to hear it has been working out for you well so far. dlaalueren
I keep 20% as cash anyway, but the only cash you are required to keep in the account is enough to cover any audit fees. I have been through an audit and it was real simple, since they have access to the V2 and comsec account all I needed to provide was my statement for my PMDS account with the Perth Mint.
Ive only got about 20k and I use Esuper... so far so good, bought gold/silver and the offer competitive brokerage too
Before you jump make sure you attend the SMSF Trustees group on Tuesday night. I'm definetly going Kind Regards non recourse
I'll be there with bells on nonrecourse. Thanks for your help. Keep an eye out for a young guy on his own that'll be me. I'll probably be coming on my own but I may bring a friend if he can make it. Thanks again

I am looking to head down this route too, and being reasonably young have a similar amount in super (and am looking also to buy bullion with it). Out of interest what are the annual fees? Do they take up a significant chunk each year?
fees are $699 for esuper todo the annual audit, I havnt been through this but others have said its very hassle free because they can see all the transactions you have made on the ANZ V2 account Then theres the $150 for the thieving government for regulating your smsf Setup is free and I had the offer where you get the first two years annual audit free I think its well worth it and if you invest wisely you can easily make the $850 each year It also lets you practice trading shares and CD's etc if you want before you use your "today" money
