Looks like this is now up and running, no need to register for a PayID.

I paid someone on here by payid last Saturday and they got it instantly. The only problem is that not all banks are doing it yet. But as soon as they do it will be the best system yet. You can also put in much longer item descriptions which come in handy for selling silver.

I hope we will be able to use it with sales on ebay too so we can do away with the paypal fees as well. Like someone already said, about time.

    Government should block this!

this will eat into specialist services like PayPal.

PayID is optional with commbank, I have not set it up yet.

To my understanding the old system will still remain along side this new system. One thing to note is with the new system all payments are final, so if you make a mistake the payment can not be undone.

I don't see this PayID feature being used for Business-to-Business transactions any time soon, especially when so many businesses have such similar names. The value of B2B transactions dwarf all retail transactions by at least 100-to-1 order of magnitude.

    [email protected] ?

I'd have thought loads of businesses would start using it, especially if it's the address they send their invoices out from.
