Hi all, Long time, huh? I invested in reading Ishmael, by Daniel Quinn and it's done more for me than all the crap I've had told to me all my life Before I fall down a rabbit hole with a lot of information many of you may never have considered or even been aware of considering, has anyone read Ishmael, My Ishmael or The Story of B by Daniel Quinn? I'm always asking myself questions about life, our relationships, what we need to survive (as a planetary community) and Daniel Quinn rocked me to my foundations. Not with step by step solutions but showing me HOW it happened, why it happened and a different way of seeing things. If you haven't read Ishmael, at least read the free sample on your kindle. For those who have read it and were moved by it, please message me. I'd love to hear what you thought about it and any passages that particularly affected you. Kind regards, Nick
I was just thinking of giving that another go, about a talking gorilla right? Tried to read it years ago but couldn't get through the start. Cheers.
Yes, it is a learning journey between a telepathic silverback gorilla and a man who responded to an ad in the personals. Definitely give it another go... It didn't win prizes for being a thought provoking book for nothing. You will have to stop and think about some of Ishmael's revelations..even write them down or highlight them, because once you've read the book, you'll want to remember the message.
$16.36 on bookdepository for both Ishmael and the sequence. Putting an order with Richest men in Babylon. Any other book?
Enjoy the ride. You'll be told things you already know not too far down in your brain, but somehow when that information is re-told, it will make you feel like a new born baby experiencing the world for the first time. It will feel like a slap in the face as the blood rushes to the site of impact and you'll feel the tingling sensation there for a while after. It'll make you either hate Ishmael or want to do anything and everything in your power to show him your gratitude. it's a little matrix-y... without all the tech.
The other book would be 'The Story of B'. I'v just started that one. I read the other two (Ishmael and My Ishmael) earlier this month.
Thanksfor your report. Nice to know a book can empower you to share. Have placed a hold on library copy to review before possilbe purchase.
Thanks for sharing. I bought a kindle after I read Rich Dad and Poor Dad. I agree reading or should say increase your knowledge intelligent is a biggest investment to me. Will take a look the book that you mention. I also have a book which will start reading soon is called: Frames of Mind: The Theory Of Multiple Intelligences by Howard Gardner. In the book he talk about 3 parts of your brain and how to use the most powerful part which we usually don't ware of it.
lol.. or there's getting it for free. I was happy paying the ten bucks for an ebook. It's a bit more convenient.. and less messy. I hope everyone isn't suffering too much as they unforget 'The Great Forgetting'. Enjoy
I haven't seen any other versions you speak of.. if you were EVER going to shell out money for something you could potentially get for free, this is ACTUALLY worth it. It really is. I mean, if you're struggling to get it and the other link that was put up before with the free version isn't working for you, go for the Kindle version. It's $10. .. don't kill your pc over a book. Hope everyone is well! Nick
I actually bought the kindle version that day and my kindle for pc is not working, so I d/l the free one Aus put up. It hasn't harmed my pc.
